It makes me even more mad that people are forgiving him and almost forgetting his past like it was nothing

Even worse is I heard he is one of the top paid athletes in NFL!! They already make WAY to much for what?

All these athletes are a mess

I'm obviously against dog fighting because I'm a vegetarian and I'm for animal rights, but I think people really blew what he did out of proportion. More cruelty happens to the animals that we eat and no one says or does anything about it. I don't understand why society says that it's fine to torture a pig, a cow, or a chicken, but it's not fine to torture a cat or a dog. Don't give me the bs about how it's different if you eat the animal because people would think Vick is even more sick if he ate the dogs after he was done fighting them.

Happy to see I'm not the only one who can't stand him and thinks his apologies are all fake.

The only thing I'll say in his defense is that he was probably raised to treat animals that way.

I don't think people who eat meat want to see animals tortured for their food. Not to mention I don't think a lot of people even realize what goes on in a slaughter house. How can you even compare that to someone consciously torturing an animal themselves?

I'm not saying that what he's doing is right, but workers at slaughter houses consciously torture animals as well and no one says or does anything about that. If people are going to get on Vick's case that much about dog fighting, they might as well direct their attention to slaughter houses because worse things are happening there. The workers at the slaughter houses are doing it for money as well so I don't see how it's any different than what Vick did aside from the fact that Vick is an athlete. That's all I'm trying to say.

Vick is the poster-child for a low probability of recidivism. Animal rights are hugely important, but so is the promotion of a society that accepts legally-rehabilitated convicts.

My opinion is going to be contraversial and unpopular, but y'know what...he served his time!

Yes, those photos are gruesome, and yes...what he did was terrible...

...but he served more time in prison for being culpable in the deaths of DOGS than did Mary Winkler, who shot her husband to death in the morning before he'd even opened his eyes.

Then, after admitting to police that she had NEVER been abused by her husband, she went to court and her defense was that he abused her for the roughly 10 years that they had been together!

She had no reports of domestic violence to the police, she had no proof that he'd ever laid a hand on her...the only thing she had was a bad encounter her husband had had with a neighbor, and HER FRIENDS claiming that they knew she was being abused because she became withdrawn!

Matthew Winkler was condemned as an abusive husband without ever being able to defend himself, and Mary Winkler served the 5 months in prison while she was being tried, and 2 months in a hospital where she made a remarkable, full recovery from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder!

No one even talks about it...the fucked up criminal justice system where a man was murdered by his wife, who served 7 months of confinement, while Michael Vick served 21 months total for his responsibility for the deaths of dogs!

Oh, I forgot...Mary Winkler was hailed as a hero on the Oprah Winfrey show AFTER she got away with what she got away with...while Michael Vick is still a pariah in many circles, even after he SERVED HIS TIME!

If the view is that he should be banned from ever owning another dog, I fully agree! He is unworthy of the companionship that dogs provide, and he should never be allowed to own one ever again!

But if you're trashing him again for what he did...and you've said nothing about a criminal justice system that convicted a man who killed dogs for three times longer than a woman who killed her husband, then I'm sorry...but I think your views are a joke!

I realize many of you would do more for your dogs than you'd do for another human being...but that's just proof that this is a fucked up world that we live in!

I love animals...but don't expect me to see the man who served his time and then gave a candid interview espousing his opinions as being unworthy of forgiveness when a Judge and a Jury gave a woman who killed her husband less than 1/3rd that amount of time in prison!
