SATANISM & gay men....

    *edit*

The other day, on Grind'r, I got bored & decided to post something for my profile HEADLINE to see how others responded. At the time, I was outside in my mancave jammin' to Marilyn Manson's ANTICHRIST SUPERSTAR album from '96 (one o' the best rock albums from the 90s) - & I was gonna type that into my box. But that was too many characters. Then I thought about it - I am currently re-reading a "true crime" book called SAY YOU LOVE SATAN - so I posted "Say Yu Lv Satan" as my HEADLINE.

In moments - MANY guys on GRIND'R were responding to me saying "JESUS!" & other things such as "you're going to hell!" & "how dare you put that on your profile!". Which - honestly - I found VERY hilarious. I loved it! I loved the controversy it created & the outcry's I got. Though, I did ask each one if they were religious in any way & some said no. (?)

But during this I thought: How can gay guys whom aren't religious get so VERY VERY upset about a post about "satan" when in the Christian religion we are all regarded as a "abomination" "sin" & "going to hell" anyways?

I mean, if I read that on someones profile, I wouldn't give a shit. So aside from the christian gay guys out there, I found this VERY contradictive.....

So why would/does Satan offend anyone thats gay? icon_neutral.gificon_question.gificon_eek.gif

I saw a bumper sticker a few weeks ago that said "If Satan punishes bad people, does that make him a good guy?"

We're not considered an abomination according to Christianity. There are just some prissy Christian's who like to say that.

Satanism is a really interesting topic, because LaVey, it's founder, does not believe in "Satan" or "the Devil" in the Judao-Christian sense. He doesn't believe in Deities or Gods or Devils at all, actually.

Satan, to him, was just "the adversary' and it's many interpretations. I find a lot of the 'teachings' of satanism actually pretty relevant, such as it's disapproval of Psychic Vampires. His essay "Not All Vampires Suck Blood" is actually pretty interesting and talks about how people play the Victim often in order to have an excuse for their perceived short-comings.

Like me blaming being lazy on Having Lyme Disease... I've definitely done it, but I know realistically I'm just a Twat and need to get my fucking lazy ass out of bed!

Long Story Short: it's got a lot of food for thought about it..

This planet is populated mostly by superstitious humans, believing anything their parents taught them as children long into adulthood. AND, humans are wired to draw conclusions from anecdotal incidences (pattern recognition is very high with our species) that tend to reinforce superstitions and mysticism. You won't find a part of this planet where this type of short-cut thinking doesn't persist.

That said, bad marketing, unless you actually got some good hits.

Is that a Baphomet? I suppose the symbolism is the same as Satan.

Oh yeah I DEF got some good entertaining hits out of it. But there is no "marketing" to it as I was only on there to chit chat w/ folks. I had it on the "headline" for 2 hours - then deleted it.

But yeah I'm pretty familiar w/ alot o' the philosophies of Satanism (& see eye to eye w/ some of 'em). Though, just to point out - I'm Agnostic.

I've encountered some gay guys who themselves worship Satan and have screen names like, "^666Muscle" and profiles that end with "Hail Satan". There is this bizarre eroticized linkage of power, masculinity, muscle and the devil.

To me it screams, "my daddy never loved me" or, alternatively, "my mommy smothered me with too much love". icon_twisted.gif

Well luckily Mind&Matter I don't pull off or use corny screen/usernames such as those.

Though my fascination of it has nothing to do w/ trying to find "masculinity".

I KNOW I'm masculine! lol I don't need to subscribe to a belief to prove that.icon_twisted.gif

I see eye to eye with "Modern Satanism", but many of the Satanists, like on the Letters To The Devil forum and other related sites, treat him like he was Jesus.

I know one of there laws is not being pretentious, and I just get this really thick pretentious pissy attitudes from them. Though the majesters seem to have a more professional adult demeanor.

I actually think Lavey was cool cause he didn't take the whole thing too serious, he was a character.

I really don't need someone to teach me how to be a realist or force their methods on me. Again that wasn't the founders original purpose.

Like on the personality wheel in the Satanic witch I seem to have many 3 characteristics but many would describe me as a 6. I just don't subscribe to all his theories or some of the fringe organizations and people like Nikolas Schreck, and Boyde Rice who are associated with the COS.

AKA_B1GK saidI know on this site I'm considered a "minority" w/ my tastes & things & such about Music/Movies/Life, etc - However - something I wanted to point out of interest:

The other day, on Grind'r, I got bored & decided to post something for my profile HEADLINE to see how others responded. At the time, I was outside in my mancave jammin' to Marilyn Manson's ANTICHRIST SUPERSTAR album from '96 (one o' the best rock albums from the 90s) - & I was gonna type that into my box. But that was too many characters. Then I thought about it - I am currently re-reading a "true crime" book called SAY YOU LOVE SATAN - so I posted "Say Yu Lv Satan" as my HEADLINE.

In moments - MANY (gay) guys on GRIND'R were responding to me saying "JESUS!" & other things such as "you're going to hell!" & "how dare you put that on your profile!". Which - honestly - I found VERY hilarious. I loved it! I loved the controversy it created & the outcry's I got.

But during this I thought: How can "gay" guys get so VERY VERY upset about a stupid f*cking post about "satan" when in the Christian religion we are all regarded as a "abomination" "sin" & "going to hell" anyways?

So why would ANY gay guy be "offended" about Satan or Satanism (& btw, for those who don't know crap, Satanists don't actually worship THE "christian" Devil, just so you know!).

I mean, if I read that on someones profile, I wouldn't give a shit. So aside from the "christian" gay guys out there, I found this VERY contradictive.....
