In April 2012, Titanic will be re-released in 3D, marking the 100th anniversary of the sinking.

    http://www.paramount.com/news/press-releases/paramount-pictures-twentieth-century-fox-and-lightstorm-entertainment-to-set-sail-again-with-james-c

    FYI:
In the DVD commentary, JC admitted that some parts of the dramatized sinking may be inaccurate.
Some Titanic scholars believe the ship broke at an angle shallower than that depicted in the film.

I do not see what is so amazing about 3D other than it's ability to give you headaches.

I'd say kill it with fire, but that boat's far too wet to catch.

Still think it was overrated in its day (the script is pretty horrendous), but it's grown on me over the years as a piece of popcorn entertainment. I'm down to see it again on the big screen.

Eh, I'd just think it would be hilarious since you can't have the release without her. I actually really like Celine Dion.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidNot clear why everyone is hating on Celine Dion. I mean, dang, she's not my favorite person but she does have a voice unlike 'sumadeez' ho's like Britney or Vag.

My thoughts exactly...ironically (given than she's Canadian) I think she's probably delivered one of the most beautiful renditions of "God Bless America" I've ever heard before!

Of course she spoke out against the US government handling of the Hurricane Katrina relief effort, and she's more or less dropped out of public view, aside from the occasions when it's news that she had another baby. Coincidence?

Republicans are very good at working behind the scenes and holding on to grudges!

Frankly, I'm not sure I'd bother seeing this again in the theatre in 3D...it seems unnecessary, and frankly, isn't James Cameron one of the most outspoken people when it comes to post production 3D rendering???

Kinda being a hypocrite, aren't you James??? But a hypocrite who no doubt stands to make a whole lot more money!!!

I guess money can make a pure man corrupt!

(Not meaning that James Cameron is a pure man! LOL)

    11337S saidi knew this movie
    line by line
    back and forth!!!!

i saw it 12 times while it was in theaters
and then they bought me the vhs for my birthday
i watched that movie soooo many times!
    i still have it.

i don't watch it as often because now it just makes one depressed
but that is one hell of a movie.

i don't know who in the world would say that movie is terrible
    because it is not
it's about as epic as u can get

    the script is good
    the acting is amazing
    and kate winslet

    dear havens
    DOES she win!!!!!!!!!

    i love her!

the script is considered awful by all expectations. despite titanic winning a record number of (undeserved oscars), it didn't even manage to snag the easy writing nomination. it was panned by all the writing awards and guilds.

second, the movie wasn't universally loved by any means. it lost every major award by the critics to L.A. Confidential.

as for the acting, is was boring and leo looked young enough to be kate and billy's son.

I didn't like the story either, since there was enough real life drama on the actual ship.

But the historical accuracy of the props and the modelling were pretty amazing.

So why don't they just throw in another dimension (making it 4D) and blow cold air at you during the ice scenes? Or hot air during the car scene? LoL...

I think we'd all prefer smell-o-vision for the car scene? Fresh tuna maybe?

One of the best movies in history with one of the most beautiful songs ever sung. Not seeing the purpose in 3D though. Can't stand that format, personally.

She got a freaking Oscar just because the movie was popular. The song was overall boring and generic. The fact that "Miss Misery" by Elliott Smith didn't win just proves that his voice got drowned by the millions of 14-year old girls orgasming over Leonardo di Caprio.

the same way many ppl like me feel about avatar, which was worse in acting, dialogue, storytelling, etc.

Most conversions of 2-D movies into 3-D have not been very good. The best were originally made as 3-D.

We have a 3-D HDTV, with the electronic interactive glasses, the whole nine yards, which can work very well, no headaches. But until I read a review of this Titanic 3-D attempt, I won't be buying it.
