Anyone try the 100 pull up challenge? Basically all you do is just time yourself doing 100 pull ups

It took me about 12 minutes and I'm still sore 3 days later haha

    Here's a video:

Takes me forever to get through 100.

Did anyone else notice the other shirtless guy in the video in the background? I didn't think there were any gyms that let you train shirtless...

No way. 100? When I tried out to be a cop long ago, I could do maybe 35 maximum, while all the other guys were under 10.

I am embarrassed when in the gym doing pull-ups. I am convinced I am missing a whole set of muscles cause I can barely do 15. I am in awe when I see guys do more than 20 in a row. Grrrrr So frustrating.

I agree. that is one of my goals with gaining muscle. I am in awww when others can do something I can't.

I'm getting to the point of watching those people and asking them questions. Only way to learn.

I'm sure you can do it soon if you put your head to it.

Right now I can do 30 in a row. I know tons of marine work out partners that can do more than me, but I'm working on it! >.

10 in a wide grip is about all I can manage in one set, lol... though I can manage about 30 in the space of 10 minutes if I space out the sets icon_razz.gif

I think some of you guys dont get that you can take a break.....goal is just to see how long it takes you to get to 100.....it might be in 8 sets or more......am gonna try it soon. My hunch is I can do 100 in under 10 minutes, but not sure. I normally do 3 sets of 8 or so, 1 min rest, with 25# weight around my waist.

I honestly am tempted to try, today is back day anyway. I just don't know if I could even get it done in under half an hour. :

I'm surprise to read some of you can't do this. This is one of the easiest exercises you can do if you take the necessary break in between sets. I do 4-sets of 25 each taking 90-seconds breaks in between with a total time of under 7-mins.

According to the video, it gets hard after the first 65 icon_biggrin.gif

I'm gonna try this. If I can do it in under an hour, I'll be extremely happy.

I got to 53 in about 10 or so minutes (wasn't keeping track :S) and decided to just try another time, a time when I don't have a 6AM flight to catch the next day, but it felt good, nice burn lol.

Nice to see that I could get some other people to try this! I've been super busy and haven't worked out in like a week, but I'm about to try this again and see if I can knock off a few seconds!

Ok - tried it this weekend. Not good. 25 in 5 min. Was at a point where regardless of the length of the break I couldn't do more than 2 in a row. icon_redface.gif (Albeit I tried it at the end of my workout.)

    I've got a new workout challenge. icon_twisted.gif

Did 40+ when out at the park with a friend and her kids ... though this was in sets of 10 done intermittently over the space of an hour on playground equipment so it probably doesn't count lol...

Damn, how do y'all do them so quickly? I can barely do 15 per set so it took me freaking forever to get to 100. Ugggh! icon_redface.gificon_redface.gif
