With IE, it took FOREVER to. . .

    Get on line
    Get to any website

Once I got on a website, it took forever to. . .

    Download the website
Access any link on the website
    Scroll down the page

In fact, most every session "ended" when IE "encountered a problem". . . and I'd have to start over.

Not to mention the endless freezes, crashes, etc.

    With GOOGLE CHROME,

    It's amazingly fast
So far, no probs downloading, accessing anything...

Stuff that used to take minutes now takes seconds

With IE, my Facebook page wouldn't download half the time. Not any more

Anyone else have a similar experience? Why is IE so bad?

Lately Firefox 5+ have been the suckness as well.

Any site with the least bit of JavaScript or Flash objects seems to crash it.

I might try out Chrome, though of course that means Google will undoubtedly be analyzing my porn downloading habits to better "improve my marketing experience", lol...

Chrome does that speed by grabbing the site from Google's servers instead of the actual site. and it scans every page and every thing you type and "anonymously" records it and cross references it with you web searches, direction searches on the maps site, Gmail message and address book info (Google scans that too) and other info from all the Google sites. if you have an Android phone, they scan that too as part of building your profile.

Chrome's speed is not worth them havng all that data to me. I don't even use Google for search anymore. is just gone too far...

Agree! I haven't use IE in a long time.

Just make sure you uncheck your privacy level/usage statistics settings so Chrome cannot sent data reports back to Google.

I bet you definitely can tell the difference! I haven't used IE in about 4 or 5 years, so I don't even remember what it was like! All I know is that it sucked back then. Apparently it still sucks icon_rolleyes.gif

I use both Chrome and Firefox. Overall, Chrome definitely is faster. However, I still use Firefox on certain video sites (Korean dramas) where the ad block plug in works better. I don't get any video ads on Firefox whereas I do on Chrome.

Thanks for the heads-up. Can you tell me how to do this?

    Yes, and it was hideous

Couldn't get on a lot of websites (like Huff Post)... it would freeze or crash

Couldn't get into Facebook half the time

Under the best circumstances, it took forever just to get on-line

    Horrible

I lost probably 15 min. a day (at least) because IE8 was so slow, always freezing, etc

    15 MIN / DAY x 7 DAYS = 105 MIN = 1 HR 45 MIN/WEEK

    MULTIPLY 1 HR 45 MIN/WEEK X 52 WEEKS A YEAR =

I save approximately 90+ HOURS A YEAR (at least) by using Chrome instead of IE8

    90 hours!!!!

I always use chrome and fuck the fact they record everything. The others are so cluttered up with crap that they become unusable.

Chrome is the best browser. Period. You can dress it up, too-- check out the skins.

I use Firefox instead of Chrome, partly because of the privacy issues. Firefox hasn't been making me very happy. I may have to switch. I haven't used IE in years.

Chrome is definitely faster and more reliable than Internet Explorer, but not hugely so; fewer freezes and crashes as well.

I use Chrome and find it easier and faster than Explorer. It has fewer crashes and downloads are quicker.

I'd venture that many of the problems people relate to IE are really with add-ins and malware they have accumulated over time.

Agree totally. IE8 is rubbish and seems to "encounter" lots of problems.

Just FYI, many times crashes are caused my something else on the computer, not by the browser. My Firefox crashes at least once a day, but it's because of a bad display driver, not because of the browser.

I agree, Caesar. As for me, I have never had a prob with IE.
