So, I have decided that this is a good point for me to repaint my bedroom, and I have picked out a Brown that is a few shades lighter than Chocolate Brown, and a Red that is close to Burgundy. I have had solid painted walls for as long as I can remember, and I was curious if anyone had some cool tips on a paint job that is not just plain solid walls. Any ideas? icon_biggrin.gif

I don't I am sorry, I like my walls plain white, or a variation of white, egg white, chalk white etc.

Can you maybe post some pics of what you're looking to do?

You could tape out a series of stripes on the wall and paint them with your red and white.

You could paint all your walls the brown, except one wall in white. Then paint a branch pattern on the wall with your brown.

You could apply picture frame moldings to your brown walls to add some dimension.

I think a bedroom should have light/soft/soothing colors. I prefer white, off-white, or cream. Brown seems more appropriate for a den or living room.

This would drive me nuts after a while..

    Maybe try painting one wall?

My sister's place has stripes running along the the bottom half on the walls of her place. I can't really describe it because its really nicely done..On a side note my sibling and I are very creative bunch of kids icon_biggrin.gif

Also maybe you can have one wall done in a texture format.

The best place to go is to the Pantone website or anything related to interior paints for houses/condo/apt.

Your colors seem really dark to me... I get the feeling it would make the room feel like a cave.

Hopefully the chains from your sling will lighten the place up a bit and provide a hint of whimsy icon_wink.gif

I agree with them being too dark, the colors were something I already have in hand. I think I may go for a lighter tan/creme. I am thinking of doing stripes with the brown and tan.

......................I think the chains and sling will go better with the tan haha

Definitely avoid bright colors in your bedroom; my bedroom is a soft grey, which is easy to match, but isn't the boring old off white. Soft blues, off whites, tans and browns are good for a bedroom, but bright colors will make it hard to sleep.

I think when it comes to bedrooms and comfort, you're either a 'cave' person or a 'cloud' person. Either you feel comfortable and relaxed feeling like you're in a light, soft area or a dark, enclosed space.

You were not the only one, i was expecting sex advice, not decorating advice, but on a gay site this title line could have gone either way now that i think about it.icon_biggrin.gif
