As if they were going to have any virtue. Now that there is no form of government and no institutions, it's back to the stone age for Libya.

Islamic regimes hate you because you are not Muslim.

That is what I was saying.

This is stupid generalization. Where were the black Africans intervening in Kosovo, for example? Does that mean black people don't care about white Muslims? I would think not.

NATO and The UN Step in to help Kosovo. Nothing was done for Rawanda until it was way too late.

Do you know what happened in Rwanda? Do you know what the world did when it happend?

The global community only cares about places like Africa when there are things to exploit or despots to attack for cheap political points. They raped these places for centuries and wonder why they are third world countries.

What`s happening in Libya is the old pattern of when one dictatorial regime is violently replaced by another. All sorts of old scores are settled.
See what happened in many a liberated European country after the Second World War;the break up of Yugoslavia into smaller states;and the current regime in Iraq where all sorts of minorities are being attacked by others, even muslims-see the Sunni minority that used to rule is now on the defensive. In the Kurdish region,non-Kurds are being discriminated against.
The great irony is that minorities are sometimes safer in dictatorships than in so called democracies.

Qaddafi used black mercenaries often to carry out his "works."

Sadly, this revolutions will change things little for the avg. Libyan.

To round up men who just happen to have darker skin and kill them, just by assuming they are mercenaries is "OUTRAGEOUS".

This is where my inner conservative/non-interventionist streak comes out:

It is regrettable - and not really our concern.

Of course, the same might have been said for many other wars and conflicts that we (the USA) have embroiled ourselves in.

That said, it would not be appropriate to support or endorse a regime that engages in genocide/crimes against humanity.

Right, turn a blind eye when there is nothing to gain by doing the right thing. The "civilized worlds" continued inaction in places such as these is telling.

You sound so surprised. This isn't exactly a population known for its tolerance or reason. And stupid people, irrelevant of geography, will always look for someone who is the most easily identifiable from themselves to blame for their problems.

No. It is not a legitimate excuse and doesn't explain what is happening. But black Libyans are the poorer people as they are mostly migrants and their descendents. It's sort of how American feel about Mexicans but worse.
Basically they have no one to protect them.

Not when we have lingering social injustices inside our own borders can we reasonably expect to instruct - or enforce - the same for the rest of the world.

Well as a BLACK person I find this absolutely inexcusable. The blacks in Libya need to find a way to leave in mass and head south to Sub Saharan Africa, clearly the Libyans are in a very destructive mindset and their behavior now is clearly beyond disgusting. There is nothing the US can do, but international pressure can force the Libyan NTC to take heed and put a swift end to this if this is indeed happening. After all aid is being flowing in from Europe.

Haven't most black Africans in Northern Africa been Arabized and adopted Islam though? Unless we're talking about indigenous, nomadic tribes that have resisted over the years.
