Is It A Bad Sign If You Don't Have Sex On The First Date?

It appears that I had the wrong idea about dating. I thought people go on several dates before deciding to make love. But I was watching the Vampire Diaries and the guy was like yeah I'm dating I have needs (sexually). And now I'm learning that sex is just as much a part of the date as dinner etc.

    Did you remake your account?

Let me explain this in a way that everyone will understand: It is OK to have sex on any number of dates WHEN YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH IT!

No one will judge you except your whory self if you have sex too early. I know many people who had sex, then dated, just like others went the other way around.

    It is all relative people.

Seriously, dating is not some ritualistic dance that if you do it just right and say the right lines you have a boyfriend. Do something daring for a change!

    Kids today....

It's sex first then the date. Unless it's Applebee's then ribs first...no, hot wings then ribs then sex.

    I did.

I'm just still trying to figure why the hell a guy I really liked just stopped talking to me after our perfect date. I just figured maybe it was because I didn't have sex with him.

It wasnt perfect for him. He is not that into you. Forget about him and move on.

In fact, do what I do, slum around getting STDs until you find the one that sticks. (guy not std)

Not at all. Too many people want the goods way too fast! No one is obligated to put out on the first or fiftieth date. Whatever happened to patience and anticipation?

This happened with me once. We went to dinner on the first date and we went to his place and we fooled around. He later told me that because I didn't want to fuck him on the first night, I must have not liked him enough. He then told me that he went on another date with a guy that he didn't like so much, and they fucked. Well, our second date dynamic was horrible, of course. I asked him why did he had anal sex with this other guy if he wasn't so much into him. His answer to me was that it's because he didn't think it was going to workout between us, due to the fact that we didn't have full-on anal sex on the first date. I'm telling you, that guy did a number on me. I thought about turning straight after that.

But then when I talked to other guys, apparently sex on first date is not uncommon amongst gay men. I guess I'm just a prudish lady then. icon_confused.gif

You failed to regard the First Rule of the Rules for Gay Men:

Rule 1. Never, ever... EVER... underestimate the flakiness of the gay male.

Not at all surprising. A number of gay men seem shocked when you DON'T want to have sex before, during, or immediately after the first date.

I've gone well beyond prudish to just plain 'frigid.' But, I find that that keeps the flakes away! icon_cool.gif

This x1000. I have had guys tell me that they will call me after the 4th date, then decide they didnt like me anymore, completely flaked out, and pretended like I didnt exist.

You have to remember, many gay men do not have the traditional high school experience. That is where we learn how to interact with each other as a society, as well as when we learn about our attraction to each other. Since we have never learned how to behave as a boy during that time, we do it when we should be men.

Hence, why people do shit like this.

I typically will not even close the first date with a kiss unless I really like what I see and am committed to a second date.

That's how the other half lives.

Depends on the guy, the date, the situation.

Each date and each person is different. *shrug*

agree with alot of things said on this forum...

On my FIRST official date we didn't have sex. I think that if we would have it would somehow always end up with sex that night. I know it doesn't have to, but guys are guys and sex is fun and feels great.

I personally don't like to have sex (with my date) until I am comfortable enough with him. I obviously do not want our relationship (with any guys) to be about sex and centered on sexual activity. I don't think it's healthy. The relationship will eventually be built upon sexual needs rather than loving and caring for someone if sex is ALWAYS the case when dating. blah blah blah...

if you date to have sex, then what's the difference between hooking up and dating?
dating you lose money (dinner, movie, etc)
hookups you don't lose money (blow go, fuck and go. DONE!) lol

Only reason you are a prude is because your not attractive enough to get laid.

Need I bring up the threads that talk about where Asian men land on the gay hierarchy?
