What are some movies that you had really high hopes for and you were really let down when you finally saw it? For me it was Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. I love Alice and i have been a huge fan forever, I have read the books, seen every movie/show/minseries about it I have tons of memrobilia so I was so excited to see it. I was really let down by it. I really didn't like the actress who played Alice, Johnny Depp was just strange as the Mad Hatter and I didn't get the random Scottish outburts. The only saving grace was Helena Bonham Carter who rocked the role as the Red Queen. Overall I blew 20 bucks to see it in 3D and it was the worst mistake ever lol.

What about you guys? It doesn't even have to be a movie it could be a show, book anything that had a lot of hype that got you exctied to see it.

    Recent rented movies;

1-Sucker Punch. Was not what I was expecting at all.

2-Piranha 3D. Too much tasteless sexual content.

3- Battle: Los Angeles. Extremely bore. Skyline was far more interesting.

Totally agree with Alice in Wonderland, Helena Bonham Carter was the best part of the movie.

I watched Insidious recently. It was good for the first half, but then it just got weird. Not so much scary as just...really weird.

The story was just Pocahontas with blue people and mechs, and the 3D was pretty lame!

There are a lot more that have let me down, but this was the first to come to mind, and hasn't been mentioned yet. Of course some people do love it, and I guess that's their own preference.

    Queen Of The Damned

First off RIP Aaliyah you were great in the very limited role that you had as Akasha but that film was complete and total bullshit. The film trailer practically was better than that crap. icon_evil.gif

Helena Bonham-Carter is always a delight. Like most great British actors, there's almost nothing she can't do (comedy, drama, historical characters, etc).

I look forward to anything in which Helena Bonham-Carter appears.

The only thing that wasn't 'lame' about this movie was the 3-D. Please explain why the 3-d was so lame because I was pretty blown away visually by the visuals when I saw it in 3d.

Well, it might have been the cinema that I watched it in, but to me, it just had a certain sense of depth. It didn't really pull me into the screen that I think 3D movies should. It's possible that it was a bit too cluttered as well, with all the jungle and leaves being a bit messy for the effect to look crisp.

To compare, Tron: Legacy was a pretty bad story, but the 3D in that really blew me away!

    'Dances with Wolves'.
It`s heart was in the right place, but a vastly overblown story at least twice as long as it needed to be!

Paranormal Activity -- everybody raved about how scary it was. I fell asleep.

A Beautiful Mind -- it was so dry. I was bored out of my mind.

I honestly don't see how everyone liked this movie. People were laughing and it wasn't a comedy.
