The only new show I have seen this new season is PAN AM. I really found it refreshing. Great combination of nostalgia, suspense, romance, etc. If the storyline is heading in the direction that it looks like it's heading, this promises to be a really good show.

    Anyone else see it?

I also really like the music and the whole flavor of the show. And, YES, Captain Dean (actor Mike Vogel) is reason enough to watch -- such a hottie.

It was good, a little over the top but I guess that's to be expected in these type of shows. Of course there were no "ordinary" looking people either, all more or less "beautiful" which of course the stewardess were at that time in real life but not the passengers and people milling about the airport..
Perhaps the most glaring not to be believed at all in any way shape or form was the captain.. There is no way that a guy that young back then would have been chosen to fly such an inaugural flight, no way.. It would have gone to one of the airlines most senior experienced pilots. But then it's tvland.

Seemed like a really awful Mad Men ripoff, with bad CGI to boot.

when i was growing up, i had the opportunity to fly PAN AM on a regular basis from IAD--SJU--STT--STX. (mom and dad had a house on st. croix, and we only flew pan am to the caribbean) that was in the days of the beige and blue f/a uniforms with the bowler hat, but, they still wore the white gloves for boarding and deplaning.
anyway, what i loved about the show the most was the recreation of the pan am world port with the original 'docking over hang and walkway' (pre jet way era). the lounge with the balloons in the first class cabin was spot on too. okay, so the cgi is a little off, but it was great to see the recreated boeing 707 'straight pipe' jet with that blue meat ball logo.
it was also a nice touch seeing the cgi pan am logo put back on the office building where it belongs. a nice piece of nostalgia.
the ranch house and the cars were great too.

I loved it, now that my favorite show Desperate Housewives is ending, I have a new fave show!!! Everything looked so elegant and there's a lot of eye candy for us gays. The ratings were good too, it didn't crash and burn like The Playboy Club.

I loved it, it brings a lot of memories when I was growing up in South and Central America because of my father's work. Additionally, when we went to the Caribbean to visit my Aunt in Barbados. We used to fly Pan Am all the time, I remember how the flight attendants always made you welcomed, also the old days of sterling silver utensils, the nice plate of roast beef even on economy class, which is a shame that those days endedicon_sad.gif

    I liked it.
My heart was pounding in when she tried to switch the passports. And thought, that's funny, this is a TV show and my mind sorta thought it was a James Bond movie. I hope it sticks around.

    It is on my DVR.

Is there a thread about Doctor Who yet? cuz I'm nervous about this Saturday.

I honestly didn't think I would like it, but was totally caught off guard. What really got me was that little hint of fantasy they give with the camera work and colors and what not, it sort of reminds me of "Pushing Daises" (which never should have been cancelled!)

have not seen it yet but Im a little weary of network tv as opposed to cable. I have basically given up any regular network shows because they tend to be watered down and somewhat restrained with what they could do. If this was on A&E Id be all over it. I will give it a try I guess
