Last Saturday night I witnessed the most glaring example yet of this growing and unwelcome trend of str8 women frequesting gay bars/clubs. At a club that holds an underwear party every Saturday night, these 3 str8 women came in and sat themselves down on a bench next to the clothes check where guys undress, Their obvious intent was to scope out the guys undressing. They were not welcome, and apparently decided they were going to turn the underwear party into their own version of Chippendales. If the situation was reversed there would be no end to the protests and hysteria. The presence of these 3 voyeurs made most guys uncomfortable and few joined the underwear party. The management was totally pissed, but what could they do? I thought this was just an outrageous, intrusive and rude thing of these women to do.

I'd have to agree and it's far from a new phenomena

Over the years I've seen more than a few "men only" gay bars/clubs open their doors to woman at the behest of the ones with fag hag friends and ultimately close down and/or reopen again as men only or more often than not.. the place goes straight (and boring) . It's like they suck the life out of the place slowly but surely.

I don't know that the clubs can do anything to stop them from coming in. I was reading how years ago if a club wanted to go gay, they would charge women $12 for the same drink a guy would pay $3 for, but that would never work today.

    Except... it's not men only?

and there aren't women only clubs?

Plus, to be fair, you are there to check out the guys as well, theya re in their underwear in a club, they can't really mind if someone looks.

One of the reasons I don't like gay bars (one of many) is that they use the men's room as if it's a ladies room. You walk into the mens room and women are gathered around the mirror applying makeup while you're wanting a little privacy. Of course the real ladies room is always full of people doing their drugs. Eckk....just writing this reminds me why I despise gay bars! icon_neutral.gif

Yesterday I went into a straight bar and there were some gay men there taking the seats closest to the televisions to watch the game, crowding all the pool tables and dart boards, and when the game was over they took over the karaoke mike singing their Gaga and Britney. Their obvious intent was to scope out the straight guys and most of the straights felt uncomfortable. If the situation was reversed there would be no end.....

btw me and my best bud were going to go to Pronto in R.O Saturday night and we couldn't find a parking spot anywhere so we left.. That was about 7pm.. is it always that busy around there Sat night?

I don't mind straight girls at gay clubs, It gives my straight friends a reason to go the the gar bars with me. They can easily pick up girls that are surprised that they are comfortable going to gay bars with a gay friend, and I i get to talk to the guys that are interested in my straight friends. It's a win-win. Otherwise I'd be flying solo, which is the ultimate creeper status.

Saturday is always busy and there is never any parking on Washington. Park one block west on Lafayette in the Catholic church parking lot or the Public parking garage just north of the church.

No, this is completely and totally wrong.

Well not completely and totally, but he was there to check out and BE checked out by the guys. I would be uncomfortable with a girl at an underwear party. The point is to get in your underwear with other gay men, not be oogled by girls for their own personal enjoyment while they give nothing back.

That's you. Some guys are attention whores that they would seriously take from whoever, even from women.

    Or drag queens.

I certainly think it was rude of those particular women. They were obviously there on some sort of gawking mission, making all the guys feel like freak shows because it seemed like they were there more for the spectacle of something outrageous than to actually interact with human beings. They should just kick them out...maybe have someone fabricate a fight with them so the bouncers get an excuse to kick em out and it looks legit. There's more than one way to skin a cat, if you're creative enough you can totally outfox the douchbags/douchbaguettes.

That being said, it's not all bad having girls in gay bars. Sure, you get plenty of assholes and she-asses, but there are also plenty of perfectly nice girls out there. They can't help it they have vaginas...we should show them compassion. Pahahaha icon_lol.gif

I think you hit it on the head. There is a difference if a chick wants to go to a gay bar dance around and interact with the crowd, and a girl who goes to a gay venue to just look at all the men.

Other than the fact that the first is normal and the second is super duper creepy, its also just rude.

    Completely and totally agreed.

It completely changes the entire vibe of the room. It is a different dynamic entirely.

A few discreet women are no big deal and almost a tradition. But there is a developing trend of dudes who can't leave the house without a gaggle of 6 giggling chix from the office PR dept wearing chicken feather boas and plastic tiaras in some sort of bid to create a Sex and the City fantasy

its not even about needing the chicks to go out, there are certain gay spots that you just do NOT go with straight people.

Can you imagine going to a bathhouse with these chicks? A circuit party? I mean, common fucking sense gays, common sense!

I would get the same feeling going to a bathhouse where there are women sitting around in their dollar store tiaras and boas hollering at the guys fucking me. Boner killer! Gay bars are the safe haven for some guys and straight people coming in to be entertained ruins that feeling.

Its as bad as the straight couples buying homes in the Castro then trying to make it less gay.

Here is a good idea, why dont you NOT MOVE INTO THE GAYBOORHOOD IF YOU DONT LIKE IT GAY.

I swear, some people are fucking morons.

    Where to start.

    A. What?
    B. I like going to straight bars, I'm glad they welcome me... and I always voyer.
    C. I bring straight men and woman with me to gay bars.
    D. Sometimes like a whole soccer team.
    E. Take it as a complement.
    F. I'm pretty sure Chippendales is flaming and they'd be glad for your business.
    G. This attitude of segregation is dumb. You make my life harder by having it.
    H. Fuck you.

Because that's dumb. If they want to participate in gay culture you should let them. Maybe someday the gay bar won't be as necessary and maybe you can just meet a nice guy in the grocery store.

I know woman look scary but... Think of the boobies as balls, the neck as a shaft and the head as the... well head. Is that better?

I've had straight women thrown out before (not too long ago). They got drunk/tipsy and their mouths got nasty and homophobic.. Needless to say they weren't happy but I was thrilled to toss em!

    A. Self explanatory
    B. I doubt you are hitting on dudes or making it obvious you are checking them out to the point THEY ARE UNCOMFORTABLE.
    C. As well you should.
    D. What?
    E. Why?
    F. Ever been to Chippendales? I dated one for quite some time. There are no Gay Dudes seated in the sudience screaming with the chix. What happens backstage is irrellevant.
    G. It is not segregation in the traditional sense. It is creating and maintaining an atmosphere. It is not much different from keeping children out. It does not make your life harder. The belief that you need your girlfriends to accompany you everywhere may.
    H. Where?

    Agreed.

That three girls were there should no have impacted one's ability to dance around in his underwear. When I go to the beach, I cannot control who sees me in a speedo, and I frankly don't give a rat's ass.

I actually find it annoying that gays have "an area" -- it should be more integrated.
