Losing weight, how does fiber help?

    I want to lose weight, and my doctor also suggested I add more fiber to my diet.
    Any tips, suggestions, etc? Any help would be appreciated. icon_smile.gif

    Psyllium Husk is a great fiber supplement, two tablespoons a day. (1 with Breakfast, 1 with Dinner.) Take it with a cup of water or oj and follow it with a second cup of water.

    Drink a lot of water before each meal. Many times we think we are hungry we are actually thirsty. I drink a whole bottle of S.Pelligrino at night when I get the munchies. The carbonation helps fill the stomach.

    I suggest low-carb tortillas for getting your fiber. They're miracle food! They can be very very low in net carbs due to a substantial amount of dietary fiber. (A single medium sized tortilla can have 12g of fiber on its own! The Mission brand I buy has only 6g net carbs per tortilla.) And you can fill it with low-fat or non-fat cheese and, for more protein, add in meat. I love putting in grilled chicken personally. And then garnish with whatever else you want on it. So yummy! And then I have taco-flavored kisses... icon_razz.gif

    I like to share some tips to loose weight

    1.Drink plenty of water

    2.Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks especially Sodas

    3.Eat only when you are hungry

    4.Quit snacking in between meals

    5.Stay away from fried things

    6.Fresh vegetables are better than cooked or canned vegetables

    7.Instead of frying things try baking them without fat

    8.Boil your vegetables instead of cooking them

    Please elaborate. Boiling is one of several possible methods of cooking.
    I am inclined to steam the vegetables or even some types raw

    You can have fruits and poultry protein like chicken breast. These are some quick healthy meals you will like to it.
