Tarrintino has a rare and enviable knack for creating these perfect gems:

Robert Duvall, Apocalypse Now (1979): You smell that? Do you smell that? Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

venue35 saidThe Dennis Hopper monologue in True Romance when he knows that Christopher Walken is gonna kill him so he just makes things worse.

Or the Sharon Stone interrogation scene in Basic Instinct where she crosses her legs.

OMG that scene in True Romance is amazing, I always laugh so much when I watch it, Clarence's dad had BIG balls. Seems as though any Tarrantino film is gonna win big here icon_smile.gif

venue35 saidYeah it was such a clever scene...
Did you know that when Tarantino was sending his script for True Romance to agents and studios in '87 he got really harsh replies. One agent sent him a letter that said 'HOW DARE YOU SEND ME THIS PIECE OF SHIT?? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND????
    Just goes to show.
Tarantino was for the 90's NOT the 80's.

Major studios are the worst, run by money hungry, greedy, assholes who wouldn't know a good film if it hit them on the head. No wonder Tarantino had to go the independent route with the Weinsteins/Artisan to get his first films made.

I couldn't find a video of this that isn't on Hulu, and I can't access Hulu in Canada.

Devil Wears Prada[Miranda and some assistants are deciding between two similar belts for an outfit. Andy snickers because she thinks they look exactly the same]
    Miranda Priestly: Something funny?
Andy Sachs: No. No, no. Nothing's... You know, it's just that both those belts look exactly the same to me. You know, I'm still learning about all this stuff and, uh...
Miranda Priestly: 'This... stuff'? Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select... I don't know... that lumpy blue sweater, for instance because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise. It's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent... wasn't it who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it, uh, filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff.

    V. : But on this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace soubriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona. Voila! In view humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the “vox populi” now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin, van guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V.
