Why am I tearing-up after seeing this piece on CNN? Constantino is making me so proud he is doing this. Who knows? Maybe this American immigrant will replicate his efforts by walking across Canada...seriously. Keep on truckin' guy!

Constantino, YOU are an AMERICAN HERO.

I love the question you are attempting to answer with this walking journey. This is a time when we need to come together as a nation and your question is the important one:

"WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE AN AMERICAN?"

I also love that you aren't giving the simple feel-good answer that everyone is the same. In my opinion you are right to say that 'Southerners are friendly....BUT in a different way than New Yorkers'. For my money, NYers are more forthright and direct....and quicker to respond to help. AND yet as you say "that's not the stereotype".

And the idea of walking beyond your comfort zone, the DC to NYC corridor, in order to really explore.......is a great reminder to all of us. You give a good message about opening up to the big variety that is America.

I had not contributed to you before but I will now. THANK YOU.

Constantino, you truly are an inspiration to Americans gay or straight.

It takes tremendous courage and motivation to be able to do what you are doing. You also show great creativity in this worthy endeavor.

What a novel way to learn what it means to be an American; by tapping into the same tenacious and adventurous nature of the very people who founded this country.

I have to hand it to you, you are one in a million.

Yes, Tino, we're all cheering you on as you walk across our great country. Congrats on all your efforts and good luck to you! Maybe next time we could walk together across Europe or South America since we're a true international family of brothers spread across the globe. What do you think?
