(granted this doesn't really discuss male model incomes specifically but the income levels are remarkably lower than I would have imagined though obviously there are always outliers)

How much do you think fashion models make? It’s one of those professions that unless you know someone, or work in the biz, there’s not a lot of information out there to have a good view into. Judging by models’ perceived glamour and high society status, not to mention the cut-throat competition they deal with, you might think it’s a lot. I think I did. Which is why this line from a TNR review of the new book Pricing Beauty: The Making of a Fashion Model struck me as amazing:

The median income across America in 2009 for a model was $27,330—income that includes no benefits.

    - The average magazine shoot pays about $100 a day. For appearing on the cover of Vogue a model gets an additional $300.

    - Payment for walking in a Fashion Week show in London is $500.

    - The super sought-after “high-end campaign”—for a fragrance or some other luxury good pays, on average, about $100,000.

    - The question of what makes a good model is prone to the greatest illogic and shrouded by the most impermeable mystery. A distinct “editorial” look is one that, in Mears’s words sits “on the border between beautiful and ugly.”

I am a life model for art classes and the pay is $15/hour. Glamorous, huh?

A Vogue magazine shoot for 300 bucks? Heck no.
There are many types of models so first you might want to explain what type you are thinking of. A model doing vogue covers and runways gets paid a lot more than what you think.

Let's take a model like Natasha Poly who works runways, editorials, cover shoots, and lingerie shoots...She makes close to 20 thousand a runway show, plus keeps the clothing... 100 k for editorials and even more for cover shoot. For lingerie such as VS easily into the millions.

I took that approach because you mentioned Vogue covers.. I mean that is a big deal.

The pay you quoted at the london fashion week is probably about right. The pay for london fashion week is low because London is not a fashion capital and hires new models who are trying to gain some experience. Natasha Poly for example, does not do London because the designers simply cannot afford her.

Anyway, like i said you probably need to specify what kind of model you are inquiring about.. cheers!
