So most of us are drivers... on some road.. whether it be in the country or in a metro area. Driving laws vary from country to country, but I'm curious with some of the driving today how you would react if you were that driver who experienced the following:

You are driving along and a driver speeds by on your left, pulls in front of you and immediately makes a right hand turn forcing you to slow down while they turn.

One of my pet peeves. I try never and do that. So how would you react?
Me? If possible, I immediately pull to the left (if clear) and pull around them rather quickly. Don't usually give nasty looks or gestures. I almost had a wreck with a driver doing that kind of thing.

    You?

I honk for about 10-15 seconds while the inconsiderate slow-poke makes the turn, then flip them the finger once we make eye contact.

    I would mutter "asshole".

I had this happen a few days ago, in heavy morning commute traffic. The woman didn't use her turn signals and did something like your description. I just gave her a horn while I braked hard, avoiding hitting her back bumper. I saw a stressed look on her face, so maybe she was new to Denver, and unfamiliar with the streets. Hopefully she will use better judgment next time.

I crash through their rear windshield... as I did when a driver attempted this when I was on a bike and I had nowhere to go. the stopping distance isn't too great when you're going fast enough and the left lane isn't clear.icon_mad.gif

I carry insurance and if they want to risk it, bring it on. They will learn.

At Kitson (trendy mens/womens store) in Beverly Hills they sell signs for this matter. They have little signs that you just hold up, and out your window that read:

    WTF!?
    Are you blind!?
    MOVE!
    etc.

The only downfall is that since you only have two hands, and one needs to be on the steering wheel, you can't give the finger at the same time.

Maybe they should have in built in signs to allow texts to appear for the other drive to see....That will get their attention!!
