    Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes - the ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing that you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things.

    According to Wikiquote that's not really a Kerouac quote. It's based on something he says in "On The Road," but not quite:

    Used in the Apple "Think Different" marketing campaign and sometimes attributed to Kerouac, perhaps because it evokes his famous quote from On the Road: "The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes "Awww!"

    I highly recommend "On The Road". That book had a huge impact on me.

    He's right. That's not a Kerouac quote. It's also not a Steve Jobs quote despite what you may have heard of Facebook.

    That Apple campaign was created by the Chiat/Day advertising Agency. I wonder if the lowly copy writer who wrote most of those words is pissed that his copy keeps getting attributed to other folks.
