Underwear recommendations

    gents,

i am looking for recommendations and perspective on the surprisingly-complicated question of underwear. while this may sound like a contrived post to feed an underwear fetish, it is not. i am writing for advice because i cannot make sense of the bewildering proliferation of men's underwear options in recent years. i would greatly appreciate any advice you have for underwear products that fit the following criteria.

    - i do not want to spend over $40 per pair.
    - the drawers need to serve the dual purposes of everyday wear and athletics. my athletic needs are pretty straightforward: i lift weights and ride a stationary bike three times a week. my daily wear needs are pretty straightforward as well: i work in a causal office, sit more often than i would like, and walk to and from work.
    - i like to be able to fool around on the fly as the opportunities arise without feeling like i need to go home to put on my hook-up underwear.
    - i want a wider and cool-looking waistband that will look good when visible above the top of jeans.
    - i want a high-performance synthetic fabric, or lightweight merino wool.
    - underarmour boxerjocks are way too compressive for me.
    - i am not looking for a jockstrap.
    - i prefer briefs or boxer briefs.
    - i am not looking for something excessively styled.

again, i thought this would be a straightforward decision, but underwear options have exploded in recent years and i am confused.

please let me know what comes to mind for you in response to my spec. thanks in advance for the recommendations, guys!

Damn. I was just going to recommend the Under Armour boxer jocks - they're my favorite. I have a couple of pairs of boxer briefs that I picked up at the Gap, surprisingly. Not sure if they'll have them anymore because I got them in the clearance bin.

I would go with C-In2 or Andrew Christian boxer briefs. You can also get good deals if you wait for sales and use freshpair.com or another similar underwear site.

Try the C9 performance boxer briefs from Target.
They are similar to the UnderArmour ones but not nearly as tight and uncomfortable. They sound like they might fit your needs financial, functional and aesthetic.

Is it just me or does the "model" look as if he is about to burst into tears?

It is perhaps the only contraption on Earth that can make a dude's exposed penis look un-sexy.

Before he was told he was going to model that underwear he came into the studio thinking "this can't be worse than the time I got fucked for only $20".

    He was wrong.

I like the Jockey Sport H-Fly Low Rise Brief...like the material (Mircrofiber) for working out is quick to dry, plenty of room to maneuver and they look great..not to mention price usually around $21.00.icon_biggrin.gif

Whats with the wennie jock/pointless condom.
I was a stripper and the dumb straight boys I used to work with would not be caught dead in that and they would wear anything that I told them was hot.
    they were so dumb

Hey, shuddup. I have that one in blue. It came with a complimentary set of stick-on jewel studs. I call it The Driller.

Jockstrap is definitely OUT if you do stationary bike riding -- NOT comfortable at all.

This is amazing -- comfort and meets your requirements, http://www.aussiebum.com/en/underwear/93/hipster%20white/ .... the jock is most comfy but not for your lifestyle requirement.

enhancement aside -- this is actually a comfortable briefs http://www.aussiebum.com/en/underwear/1543/hip%20white/

    Good luck....

    cheers

OP, you must feel neglected reading the above nonsense.

    Why not

    A. Walk into the local high end men's emporium and ask the best looking salesman to try on his underwear.

    B. Head for your local design school [oops, bad pun] and get your post OK'd as a senior project.

    C. Go for a pair of boxer briefs off the shelf at Walmart and find that your problem is not nearly as insurmountable as you thought.

PS: I checked out your profile. You're a great looking fellow, but the first I have seen with an off-center navel. How's that?

His jock and pants are off center, not his navel.
