when in a sauna (normal male only changing room sauna) in a normal gym , do you mind if a guy is butt naked, having everything on show

obviously i dont mind at all when i was in there, but this other guy come in after and said some very harsh choice words to him saying about covering up, didnt have a hard on or anything ,

would this be a problem for you if there was a naked guy in the sauna ??
p.s doesnt bother me at all :-)

It depends on what the expectation/custom is in that particular sauna. If everyone else is covered up and the one guy is exposed, he's pushing boundaries on purpose, and doesn't care if he makes others uncomfortable, which would bother me. On the other hand, if it's relatively common practice, the guy who's objecting needs to get a life.

I have never been in a public sauna in my life but...isn't nudity expected? Maybe not EVERY guy but some of them?

I have never had a gym membership either. I have stayed in hotels with a sauna in the suite, but no - I have never shared one open to the public.

I would have no problem at all. It's just here in America we are the offspring of a puritanical society. I think it is a real shame that people have such a hang up about our own bodies. Some people see nudity and it makes them think of sex, which then makes them feel uncomfortable about the feelings that it may make them have to comfort. Especially if the nude body in question is of the same sex.

I wouldn't care because after all, we all have the same thing just with variations. It's not surprising that an American man would have a problem with it though as I think it's a sexually hypocritical, puritanical culture.

It doesn't really matter to me.

I'm not comfortable doing it myself, but other people can do whatever the fuck they want. The mere fact of being naked does not infringe my rights icon_razz.gif

A lot of these young guys don't know it but back in the 60's and earlier ,men swam naked at the YMCA and other men only health clubs along with their sons and other young boys.

I've been in facilities (certain gyms for example) that have a sign posted such as "For sanitary reasons please wear a bathing suit in the sauna". If there is no such sign I take it to mean that nudity is permitted.

it depends on the guy for me tbh....and i dnt mean that in a shallow way, but if it was a little 17 or 18 year old i'd feel a little awkward, same as if the guys was like 90. no offence to any elderly nudists intended!

For those "sanitary" reasons I think you should always sit on a towel or something (and you ought to wear flipflops in the showers and changing areas to protect your feet from some mighty nasty possibilities), but I don't see any reason you need to keep things under wraps. At my gym guys usually come in naked and sit on a towel or come in wrapped in a towel. The ones who look funny are the ones in a swimsuit, yet possessing no intention of going anywhere near the pool.

Just out of curiosity, what difference does it make? It's not a sex thing (assuming it's NOT a sex thing - I am aware that certain Men's facilities have a VERY different vibe) so why does age affect the situation?

I think most people (in the US, especially) are really hung up on nudity (and most guys I know who use the sauna have the courtesy to sit on a towel, even if they don't keep it wrapped around them). But yeah, if the policy of the gym stipulates wearing something in the sauna, I would respect that. Kind of defeats the purpose, though.

I have no problem with nudity in the sauna or steam room. I myself use the facilities in the nude but always sit on a towel as a courtesy to others using the facilities.

I'm less bothered by nudity than by people who sit on benches/etc at gyms and saunas without something between their bare skin and the seat surface! That's a staph infection waiting to happen!!!!

Only if it is the only place he goes in the gym and really not even then. I am at the gym for myself and don't give a shit what others are doing.... Says the guy who takes pics in the lockerroom. Lol
