After 2 weeks of a diet consisting of chicken n veg under a 1500-2000 calorie limit i went out for dinner... Thought yeah, have a parma with veg... Well, they stuffed up my order n put creamy potatoes on my plate... So i had a chicken with cheese n bacon, this creamy potato crap. Then I was so pissed off that i couldnt count how many calories i just got i ordered a chocolate cake like everyone else haha. Oh well, i'm sure one cheat day doesn't hurt... Just shits me there wasn't anything healthier. God I just wanna be 61 kilos! grrr.

I just shook my crystal ball for you. It said approx. 45,291 calories.

haha, in all serious though, you might not have done much diet-damage. I stay on a strict calorie diet plan for about 13 days, just shy of 2 weeks. On the 14th day, typically I make it a saturday or sunday, I eat whatever. That increase in calories sometimes bumps my metabolism into overdrive and causes me to lose more weight - believe it or not. Good luck!

It's not the end of the world. Calm down, get back on your diet, and accept it as a cheat meal.

You have the ability to control what you eat... I'd advise calming down and ask some prudent questions when ordering. Even if you get food that you don't like, because of the perceived negative calorie content, eat a part of it and save the rest till later. Take home a doggy bag.

You are living each day very carefully... one meal out isn't going to break you as far as your eating..... but only you decide what you are going to eat when you are "out" as well, so make your decisions carefully.

Treat it as a cheat day.

In the future if you want to eat out with less guilt, keep away from meals with cheese, cream, bacon or sweets unless you have specifically planned to have a cheat meal. While there may not be menu items that are considered healthy, you can certainly find a salad on any menu.

It takes about 3500 calories to gain a pound of fat so relax. And cheat meals supposedly can shock your body's metabolism and actually help your weight loss from stagnating.

Also 1 cheat meal is nothing. 2 weekends ago was the nyc realjock meetup where I probably drank my bodyweight in beer. Went out for pizza, shwarma, Italian and just about any other food you can think of.

Then last weekend was rosh hashana. That started wed night where I gorged on chopped liver, matza ball soup, brisket and because my family is half Indian, also on different meat curries and briyani and rice. Not to mention the bottle of tequila I pretty much finished myself and the cheesecake for dessert. Then Thursday was day 2 of Jewish holiday Bing eating. Then my birthday weekend followed. So I had cake, way too many drinks, pizza and Chinese and unhealthy sushi (the kind covered in tempura flakes and spicy mayo) so I pretty much went off my diet hard that weekend from wed until Sunday.

That was a big difference from my normal paleo diet of eating lol.

Anyway am I fatter now? No. I actually weigh about the same and noticed that my arms looked fucking huge at the gym yesterday.

So moral of my rant is, just get back on ur diet and don't beat urself up too much over cheating. Besides I doubt u ate as badly as I did for 2 weekends on a row.

I agree. It's not the end of the world. The measure of a man isn't whether he gets knocked down but how he gets back up. So get back on the horse and move forward.

Eating out doesn't have to be a problem. First thing, in my opinion, is to not get the bread - just say "no, thank you" when they bring it around. Second is to not be afraid to ask questions about how food is made and what you're going to get. Most places don't mind substituting more veggies for the starch and skip sauces or whatever you don't want.

I also don't think counting calories is a great way to hit a weight. Sure quantity matters but so does quality. In my experience, what you eat is often more important than how much.

    Good luck.

I love how, in order to protest that they didn't have anything healthier, you ordered chocolate cake.... that's some sound logic right there. icon_confused.gif

I guess he figured that he might as well have dessert since he already blew his diet that day.

Just because it's on yuor plate doesn;t mean you have to eat it, or every bite.

And whining after you ordered chocolate cake? Regardless of numbers of calories, if you really worries, you wouldn't order cake.

It's not like parmigian chicken or creamy poptatoes have "hidden" calories. You would KNOW it has more than an average meal.

But its like oh yeah i went off of my diet damn it, but then going the extra step to eat a dessert that has probably more calories than the whole meal you just ingested doesn't make any logical sense in my opinion. Because dessert isn't really a necessity in any way so it would of been pretty easy to go without it.

You're absolutely right; of course the whole thread was funny - it's not like the OP is obese or anything. ;)

Thanks for kicking my taste buds into high gear. Now I'll probably go eat at Big Tomato for lunch, just for their awesome Parmesan chicken and creamy potatoes. icon_lol.gif

Woha, god you're a bunch of cynical bitches. I was simply stating that it's hard to go out for dinner. Jesus christ, I'm not complaining i'm fat. My weight is ideal... But it's not perfect for me. Fuck. Calm down. And yes, I did feel I blew my days calorie count so I had a piece of cake which all my friends had aswell. It's not like I ordered coke, I still drank water. Seriously. I like to blog my health progress. Get over it.
