It's looking like time for a 90% income tax on earnings over say $300k, a wealth tax of say 10% on assets of over 500k and an 100% estate tax on assets of over $500k.

It's incredible how willing some people are like you to cut off your nose to spite your face.

Why stop at 300K? Why not start at a much lower limit? It's a bizarre world if you believe productivity has nothing to do with income - it's an even more bizarre world if you actually believe that the problem is markets rather than governments and a number of regulations that have helped to bring about the financial crisis.

The 1% is a classy response by those who don't understand these protesters who are so hopelessly inept.

Maybe you're joking or being sarcastic, who knows. Nothing is surprising here anymore. Given many homes are in the $500K area, if that were inherited, nothing else could be. Forget farms being handed down from one generation to the next. If you are serious, Karl Marx would be indeed proud of you. What you advocate is not much different than sending the military out to seize property. Yours is just a bit more polite. If you are serious, your suggestion is among the best reasons progressives need to be cast aside in 2012 with a vengeance.

It's all so very "Let them eat cake":

Yes, I know Marie was not technically the person who said let them eat cake.

Wow are you just spouting total fucking lunacy for the hell of it?

What would be the point in even working hard to give your children a "better life than you had"?

What makes you think working hard is associated with wealth? If that's the case I would wager illegal immigrants would be filthy rich.

No, it's not classy. Taunting people is never classy.

Laughter at those want to destroy your livelihood when their discontent is misdirected is a classy response. I mean look at who they're hurting by trying to shut down Wall Street.

Hopefully you forgot the sarcasm tags on this post. Hard to tell in this forum sometimes...

Your proposal covers most small businesspeople in the US. I wonder how many employees they'd need to lay off to keep breaking even on their business *and* paying the taxes.

I think a first step would be to establish a law "that no-one involved with the making of a movie can make more than 10x the lowest person’s salary."

Right...so you have some of the hardest working people in this country living at the bottom...that kind of blows all kinds of holes in you're logic.

But hey, belief is a powerful thing, I can't help you to see the truth if you keep your eyes shut and your ears covered.

Hard work is only one part of the equation to productivity. Once again, you wear ignorance like a badge of honor.

What do you have against Hollywood leading by example? A few days ago, Johnny Depp said he was overpaid: http://movies.yahoo.com/news/johnny-depp--harvey-weinstein--killed-a-great-film-.html. Meanwhile, interns are challenging the industry practice of not being paid. http://www.cnbc.com/id/44713215

Interns everywhere have been fighting tooth and nail to get SOMETHING, but people like YOU simply see them as free labor. They should be honored to even learn from you icon_rolleyes.gif

Why do you have an issue with CEO's having pay caps? Especially if they are sending jobs overseas while giving themselves massive bonuses?

I have no issues with unlimited pay for CEOs if shareholders agree with them - I also have no problems with giving jobs who are willing to do them most efficiently. As Seth Godin (a liberal) points out: "It was the inefficiency caused by geography that permitted local workers to earn a better wage". What do you have against productivity? What do you have against wealth creation? Why do you not understand that wealth is created?

It is the only lens they can imagine. They honestly do not comprehend that their way of looking at the world is seen by the majority as aberrant ( conservatives being the the minority of popular vote) They think cash is the sole measure of value and the sole motivation because they know no other way of thinking.

Instead of necessity being the mother of invention, they think patent royalties are. It is aself-centred inward looking egocentric view of Self relative to community. Quite counter productive to species survival.
