Court rules paper money unfair to blindOther countries have added such features, the court said, and the United States never explained what made its situation so unique.

Oooh, they may have used foreign developments as arguable precedent. Yummy!

I agree with this ruling; they might as well remake the legal tender to be more user-friendly for blind consumers.

It can also be a nice means for teaching children a little braille.

    I agree....

I also think a nickel should be smaller than a dime and they should both have their value printed on them.

it is not difficult to add tactile features to the bills... we have done it for years now...

    http://www.bank-banque-canada.ca/en/banknotes/accessibility.html

Several features in the Canadian Journey and Birds of Canada bank note series are designed to help blind and visually impaired Canadians recognize bank note denominations either by touch, by sight, or by electronic signal.

We should totally add smells to our currency as well. I want my $5 bill to smell like a delicious cheeseburger please.

trust me bad idea. i worked at McDonalds for a number of years and seeing where they pull their money out of I would wear gloves when working the register. I also stopped carrying cash. I dont even carry cash with me to the bar.

The worst case I saw was a 5'8" 300lb man pull bills out of his crotch. They were soaked and if it was me working the register I would have refused him as a customer if he couldnt give me dry clean currency.

Dollars are weird. In the UK all the notes look different, I don't understand how America has currency that all looks the same. When you're in a club it takes forever working out the different notes.

    What about smells?

"Mmmm. Lemony-scented. This must be a $10 bill."
