Okay, I'm thoroughly hooked BIG time to this show. Loads better than AMERICAN IDOL. I just like the whole format better. The judges, lead by Simon Cowell, have really great chemistry, with each one bringing something to the table. Then there is the talent -- WOW -- just WOW! So many really great singers of all genres. I love that their is no upper age limit, in fact, some of the better ones are in their 30's, 40's, and 50's. Great back stories too.

Okay, any other X Factor addicts out there?

    You seriously like this shite?

Its lowest common denomenator trash TV never mind the exploitation side of it.

    Opium for the masses.

whilst your being hipnotised by the flashing box and distracted they are emptying your wallet and filling your brain with drivel.

    Enjoy.

I still watch the UK version of it but I'm pretty bored with it now, it's the same old rubbish and I don't particularly like any of the people in it!

Watched it for the first time yesterday...does anyone else think Simon and Paula are knocking boots?icon_razz.gificon_lol.gif

BTW: I doubt I'll watch it again...even with a Tivo--where I can fastfwd --it's boring as hell at times to watch. I didn't get to hear some of the ones I wanted to hear sing enough...too much 'back-story'!

Jesus, everyone of them has a 'story'...we all have stories! Deal with it and move on, DramaQueens!

I guess coming from a talent management background, I enjoy the discovering of new talent aspect of the show. With "American Idol", all the talent is young and even if they don't win, they still have lots of time to find their way and get their break -- if they truly have the talent. But, with "X Factor" some of the most amazing talents are in their 40's and 50's. One lady is a 53 year old grandmother with a voice that could rival Aretha Franklin, loaded with talent but just someone who fell through the cracks for whatever reason and never got their chance to shine. So, seeing people like that who never let go of that dream, and watch them FINALLY get that moment is part of what I like the most. Granted, it's not for everybody, but I love it!

I didn't want to believe that, but after last night's show I do now. I was really pissed that Simon chose to keep Astro after he pulled that stunt on stage and almost refused to perform. They should have bought that kid a harsh lesson and sent his ass home. He is going to have a huge career anyway (assuming the fame doesn't go to his head and ruin him), and Stacy needed the break worse than Astro did. He showed an utter lack of respect for his mentor L.A. Reid and his parents by acting up like that. He should not have been rewarded for that bad behavior.

I agree that astro acted like a brat, but I can see why stacey went home. She has a great voice but absolutely no clue how to use it properly. For the last few weeks she has sounded shrieky and horrible, and her song choices were stupid (more Nicole's fault I guess). Apparently the contestants all work with world renowned vocal coaches during the week but you wouldn't have guessed from listening to her sing that celine dion song.

I wish they would replace the host as well. He's like a robot.
