    In the early days of postmodernism it was practically mandatory.
    Since then, there's been an alarming resurgence of sincerity, which has had such a destabilizing effect.

    I blame the internet/social networks but I agree with you, people do seem incredibly apathetic in general these days, especially the youth of the world.
