Straight acting guys - how do you find them?

From personal experience, I always find guys who define themselves as straight acting to be a bit on the fake side and along with the facial and body hair growth, love of rugby (football), declaration of their love of beer and the fake masculine mannerisms. They also have a tendency to be aggressive and can be real bullies.

Yet guys who are just themselves, I find are usually more masculine and relaxed.

So what is your perspective on the straight acting gay man?

You probably won't find most of the more naturally "straight acting" guys hanging around gay websites. The best you'll get are The self declared dudes, like myself.

I could be wrong, but I don't think I'm not genuine. I've been told my whole life I'm the "straightest gay dude" so-and-so has ever met ect. I'm comfortable with my sexuality tho. So, over time I've learned to open up to, and enjoy, some pretty stereotypically gay things.

The key to what gives a "straight acting" gay dude success (from what I've felt) isn't that we act straight... It's that we seem to be able to turn off our desires almost fully, and completely ignore any sexual tension, or sexual potential a situation might have. We can just concentrate totally on being Ourselves, without influence. And for whatever reason that is extremely attractive.

"Straight acting gay man" is an oxymoron. I think you mean masculine gay man.

I'm not 'straight acting'.. I dont care for women sexually socially or religiously.

I'm definitely masculine and prefer to do things dudes naturally do.

But 'act'? Nope, I'm just myself.

When I 'act' I expect to get residuals!

I find them preferable to the bitter queens who start threads labeling all gay dudes who like beer and rugby as 'fake'

My experience is that people who obsess with their self-identification as being "straight-acting" usually are not or have serious personality issues.

People that I've met that I perceive as "straight-acting", who they themselves don't care about that or don't think about it, tend to be pretty cool people that are easy to get along with.

If it is wearing Ed Hardy it is also probably a douche bag. Add some True Religion jeans to top off the douche look.

I resemble that comment about declaring I love beer, but, hey - I really do. icon_lol.gif
