    It's heart warming.

However we are facing a lot of political obstacles. the Labour government is loosing grounds to the (liberal in name, ultraconservatives at heart) opposition.

And they are bending backwards to try to please the fundy christians on gay marriage. They even go out of their way TO MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT for gay couples to get married in foreign countries that allows it.

They refuse to issue a "not in a present marriage already" certificate to gay couples. Holland and a few liberal country are so pissed off at this, they decided they will make a special case for Aussie citizens that they no longer require that document to marry them.

Our Financial minister, Penny Wong is a lesbian, yet she sticks to her party line on not allowing gay marriage, what a fucking sell out politician.

As any government, they only try to appease to the ones they think will win them the next election.

Only the Greens are for Marriage equality.

But I think Labour and Greens will loose terribly in the next general election. We'll end up with a conservative government for the next term(s).

That's actually incorrect, Penny came out in support of marriage equality after the SA Labor Conference passed a resolution calling for the change of the federal platform. She is working within the party for change.

Yes she still says that the Party's position is that marriage is between a man and a woman, but that is a mere statement of fact rather than a statement of support.

Keep writing letters gentlemen. You can be sure that the god botherers are.

The Tasmanian Premier responded to me personally last week, and it was all good.

    Just keep on writing.

It appears that Australia has similar problems with the NARROW MINDED BIBLE THUMPING SCREWBALLS just like we have here in the US. These backward lunatics just want to impose their archaic, ultra religious mindset on the whole of society. Hopefully the Australian federal court system will do the exact same thing as our federal courts in the US have over the past couple of years and that is striking down any laws and restrictions against gay marriage.
