but for some reason never get around to deleting.

Is there anyone like this in your life? For example somebody into you, who you don't feel the same for and keep them around as a friend for the occasional ego boost or don't have the heart to get rid of them in your life. Or somebody who doesn't reflect your views and it's just easier to not speak up. A negative family member, situation with a friend, love interest, etc.

For me, it's people who have walked over me and I have reduced to an accquainatance when I probably should cut them off completely)or so I've been told).

There once was a time where I thought I had to be friends with everyone and never give up on friendship, but there are human exceptions to this rule.

a nice old lady I would visit each week.

Well she seemed nice at first, but I found out she's actually really stupid and irritating and selfish and controlling and passive-aggressive and not honourable and lazy.

I started stretching the spaces between visits and shortening the times I stay. She says things like "Oh my cat's been wondering why you haven't been around". Now I'm moving and won't need an excuse not to see her anymore.

For people you care about and want in your life, it's worth it to try to fix the problem. But if they're not adding much or it's just a fundamental difference in the cores of your characters, it's best to let it die or cut it out.

My fridge. When I first purchased it from WAL-MART, it was nice, clean, and full. I could always count on my fridge to give me the goods when I open the door. Now, as of late, it's like our relationship has waned to the point that the fridge no longer functions, even as furniture. It's like every time I open the door, items start vanishing on their own. I don't understand. In the beginning, all was well. Now? I honestly don't think I can maintain my relationship with the fridge. I'm not benefiting from an empty fridge. I won't even add it on facebook.
