I actually loved it. I still remember these calls for Kingston Town. icon_wink.gif

Right-hand star in the middle of town
Allemande left your corner ladies round
Do-si-do your partner step right up and swing
Swing your lady promenade the ring
My heart is down, and spinnin' 'round
I left a little girl in Kingston Town

Yes, and even after high school. There was always a big square dance in Orlinda, Tn ( population 684) almost every weekend. icon_wink.gif

Square dancing was more of an elementary school thing.

We square danced in elementary school. We also played with a giant parachute.... we would throw balls into it and bounce them around and then lift it up and run under it and make a big bubble....

Anyone have the big parachute PE day on rainy days when you couldn't go outside?

Think I was busy cursing the Goth dudes in the parking area, bumming smokes.

I do remember the parachute thingy
and wondering why climbing the rope gave me a hard on.

Because if they were strong enough, they climbed without using their legs and if they weren't strong enough, their junk hung out of the bottom of those 1970's era gym shorts.

(I was the fastest kid in my school climbing up the rope,... and completely uncoordinated in coming back down.... I would climb up, touch the top of the gym and then give my teachers a coronary as I inched down, burning all parts of my body the entire way.)
