So the current thing I've been annoyed about is my back and shoulders. That's two things, but whatever. With every other body part, I can occasionally almost see improvement. But my shoulders and back are practically non-exsitent.

What can I do to get broader shoulders and a better developed back?

For broader shoulders, plain old push-ups!Try them with your hands placed slightly wider than your shoulders.A good general exercise for the back is to flex it by lying face down on the floor and pushing up only the upper body, arching the back backwards, holding for a few seconds, then slowly drop back down.Swimming or rowing would also broaden your shoulders out.The above all worked for me within a cardio/training programme.

    Pulldowns.

    Eat.

    Repeat.

    Rest.

    Eat.

    Eat.

    Go to step one.

Well I think SIR MIX A LOT Said it best when he said...

I like big butts and I can not lie
    You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your tongue
'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
    I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna get wit'cha
    And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But with that butt you got makes me feel so horny
    Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin
You say you wanna get in my Benz?
    Well, use me, use me
'Cause you ain't that average groupy
    I've seen them dancin'
    The hell with romancin'
    She's sweat, wet,
Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette
    I'm tired of magazines
Sayin' flat butts are the thing
Take the average black man and ask him that
    She gotta pack much back
    So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!)
Has your girlfriend got the butt? (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to shake it! (Shake it!) Shake it! (Shake it!)
    Shake that healthy butt!
    Baby got back!

    THATS RIGHT BABY GOT BACK!

Chuckystud is going to explain to us how pullups and pulldowns are going to thicken the medial delts.

    I'm listening, Chucky....

lol i think his main point was to just EAT. for shoulders tho make sure you have pressing movements like the military press or dumbbell presses. But if youre not eating enuff, no exercise is goin to make your back and delts grow.

Go to the nearest rock gym. Climb. Climb overhangs. Climb slopers. Climb, climb, climb. Then go outside and keep climbing.

You'll have a gorgeous back and shoulders in no time. Plus, you'll have fun building 'em. :)

I am surprised no one said deadlifts or heavy ass rows for a better back.

    And as someone said:

    Eat
    Sleep
    Train
    Eat More
    Sleep More

    Etc etc

Like chuckystud said, pullups, dips, preferable weighted.

google 'extremistpullup' for videos on improving ur back via pullups (apart from having a stunning physique, he's a really nice guy, though married)

    Swim-

    Swim some more-

SWIM TILL YOU ARE A FISH~!

That will build your back, shoulders, arms, and entire body for that matter, equally and proportionally.

    Good Luck and Happy Swimming!

I'm surprised nobody has made this point yet, but:

With most back exercises (row machine, pull-downs, whatever) you can vary the width of your grip.

Although it might seem counter-intuitive, if you want to widen your back, always use a narrower grip. Gripping the bar really wide will work the center of your back more, gripping the bar narrow will work the sides of your lats more.

I use various combinations of the following, max 4 sets per exercise, max 8-10 reps:

wide chinups (I prefer overhand and I do them weighted using a chain-belt)

    bent over rows

    dumb bell rows

    behind the neck pulldowns

    rear delt flyes

    straight arm pushdowns

close grip front of the neck pulldowns (underhand or palms facing)

Agree with Musclejocknyc and Chucky . . .EAT !

If your gym has an Pull~Over machine, use it! If not doing seated rows properly will work wonders!

    But Eat!
