Stanley Cup Finals

So all you RJ hockey fans, who do you like in the finals?

I am picking Detroit in 6 games. Experience will eventually triumph over young talent. Pittsburgh though has the potential to be as dominant as the Edmonton Oilers were in the 1980's. So much offensive talent, they just need a bit more playoff experience.

Go Chelsea! I love soccer. Unfortunately I am a die-hard Leafs fan, an affliction only curable by death I am afraid. My parents started allowing me to watch the Saturday night hockey games in the 67-68 season, the year after the Leafs won their final cup. Just my luck. I have the final game of the 67 final between the Leafs and Canadiens on tape. Ever so often I will watch it and get all misty eyed. It was a very exciting game.

I think it will be Pittsburgh in 6 as long as their offensive stays strong. They are both really great teams this year. Detroit has more "playoff experience" but honestly I don't think that's what's going to get them a win. If Detroit takes it, it will be thanks in large part to their stellar defense this year. But I think Pittsburgh can do it...

I'm picking the Wings in 5, I just think they're too dominant this year. The Pens will have a great team for years to come, but they also have some major decisions to make, they'll most likely loose Hossa and some team is going to offer Malkin a boat load of money. But they're a really fun team to watch.

Pittsburgh beat a very talented experienced rangers team though...however i still think Detroit will take it as long as their goaltending is strong.

I am torn.

Grew up in Pittsburgh during the Pens Back to Back cups.
Now I live in Detroit.

But I worked with the Red Wings during their three cups and have actually held the cup in my hands thanks to them...

...and with their experience, and the way they played tonight, I gotta say the wings... I think in 5.

Either way I will be happy. :-)

The way the first period was going I thought the Pens had a chance, but Chris Osgood played well and was lucky when he needed to be, then the Red Wings did an amazing job holding Pittsburgh to just a handful of shots the rest of the game. If game 1 is any indication then 5 games could be dead on.

Kinda cute, but I think he is well lubricated! He will undoubtedly be celebrating tonight when the Red Wings clinch it in 5. I think they have too much experience and self-discipline for Pittsburgh. Malkin has been smothered in this series which puts too much pressure on Crosby.

I gotta support the Penguins, since they took my favorite Thrasher (Hossa).

Thought so too, but Fleury was an animal in the net. What a game.

I'm from Pittsburgh originally, so I'm happy that both teams have shown that they deserve it.

I wish I could have stayed up and watched the game, but I start getting sleepy at 11 PM, so triple overtime is out for me.

Fleury was pretty amazing, that toe save he made was pretty incredible. I cringed just watching the replay because his groin muscles must have been straining doing the splits.

I would not be surprised to see it go 7 games now!
