    This is one STOKED tiger.

So, after so much terrible wind and weather, the weather station showed wind for the local spot that was strong enough but wasn't right, but you went anyway hoping that it might swing round, or the tide might help somehow. You set up the kite.... it's been your mate for a couple of years and you know every subtlety of it's movement. Like when it's soaked and doesn't really want to fly, how you need to pull a smidgeon more on the left than on the right coz the bridles stretched in some crazy manner, and exactly where to pull that bar in to get the sweet pop as you jump.

You're out on the water with your board which is a bit rough around the edges coz you hit the odd stone, or when you wiped out you landed just a little bit hard on the shore. You fly the kite over to 1 o'clock then all the way in to the window and STAND UP as you begin to race across the wind. Your moving so fast, and you know it's a gift of nature that you are privileged to receive. You bring the kite up, pull the bar in and JUMP. You never need to come down! (maybe you throw in a 180 onto toeside just for kicks) than off back the other water. Weaving your kite up HIGH then LOW, passing your buddies as you shout encouragement at them when they pull a 360 or a kiteloop or handlepass or something.

You've been riding since low tide, and as the evening comes in and draws on: maybe you're kitesurfing in one tack into the sunset and on the other into the night; or maybe you're facing the sunset. The sky is a vivid mauve and gold. You're the last one out the water. You hi 5 your bros (most of whom you met setting your kite up today) as you come out the water.

What is the superficial to you? You are ALIVE. You are a KITESURFER.

Shocked that there aren't more gay guys kiteboarding. It's an amazing experience. Adrenaline rush every time. Really challenging, and endlessly rewarding. Phenomenal workout. And it's the closest you'll get to feeling like you have super powers.

I almost bought a kiteboarding kit a few months ago, but other financial obligations came up and I had to put that on hold for now. I definitely wanna get into it, though.

I kitesurf. My favorite spot was Belmont shore in LA, and Pismo up north. I miss the waves, wind, and the sun. I sold most of my gear when I moved to Utah, but I still a few decent kites I might take out in the valley. If there is enough snow for some snow kiting, I'll give it a go. Definitely, a different experience than surfing on water, but its still a incredible experience - somewhat more dangerous in my opinion as well.

    Give it try.

I also plan on getting into paragliding as well, though it is way more expensive.
