My time management seems like a mess right now. I can use some help from you guys.

How many of you do (or have to) live by the clock?

Personally, the ticker starts for me when I get up in the morning and I have to be at work by 10. I calculate each activity by clock and make sure I am there at 10.

But rest of the day kind of just flows...I am never thinking like "I need to watch the TV until 8, finish dinner by 9..."

When other people depend on me, I use the clock.

Stuff for myself... Well, if I have a lot to fit in, I'll calculate when I need to be where and how long I have.

Living in NYC and relying on public transit, one learns a certain flexibility.

The really nice days are those on which I am responsible to no one elseicon_razz.gif

I wouldn't say I live by the clock. I do have my daily routines. But it's not on a set schedule. As long as it gets done.

how do you know it will get done if there's no schedule. i seem to be missing a bunch of things every day before bed time. being lazy and spending time on RJ isnt helping either.

Well, I set up time frames and priorities. Like if I have to go to the post office, I'd like to get that done sooner so that I can avoid crowds and get in before closing. But other low priority items are sort of on a shifting/floating schedule. But I'm just talking about personal stuff here. For work and for activities where other people are involved, I'm pretty strict and have definitive times/dates.

I'm always punctual if I'm supposed to be somewhere at a certain time.
Otherwise, I sleep when I'm tired, eat when I'm hungry, etc.
