I know some of the more socially aware RJ members know about food deserts and how people sometimes have to go hours out of their way to get decent food, could you imagine what this added tax would do to them?

What it would do is make the tax system fair. I wish Herman Cain did have a chance as he is the only gop candidate with a real plan. 999 all the way.

I think you actually believe that's what poor & starving people in the US eat. Very sick of you. And very Republican.

All this thread really proves is Doomsday's lack of understanding of how the 9-9-9 plan really works. So much for being a "socially aware RJ member". icon_rolleyes.gif Regardless of the fact that I am impressed that Mr. Cain is one of the only Republicans who has actually set forth a viable new tax plan that could work (if tweeked so as to not be an unfair burden on the poor), I personally will not support him as a candidate for POTUS for many other reasons.

any flat tax plan is by nature regressive. Regressive taxation widens the income gap.

Thanks for giving us the view from the all white gay ghetto of Wilton Manors.

    Google: food stamps lobster

Wilton Manors is neither all-White, nor a ghetto. You slander an entire gay community again.

It's what you most detest & oppose: a friendly place where all GLBT people are welcome. Where we are out and accepted, which really riles you, why you obsess on it in these threads time & again, constantly using that pejorative "ghetto" term. You really hate the idea of a gay community, don't you? And hate those of us gays who enjoy it.

As for the poor, we have a food bank here, that my partner & I support. Food stamps leave them starving, not dining on organically-farmed salmon nor lobster, as you falsely contend above. So we'll be buying a number of Thanksgiving dinners for them, as we do each year. Will you be doing likewise?

Plus my partner & I provide clothes for the homeless, and Christmas gifts for their children. Something I never see Republicans doing, nor you, for that matter.

And don't bitch that I'm bragging, because you prompt this issue yourself. Rather, I hope to encourage others here to do the same in their own communities.

So don't try that game, Mister, because you will lose every time. As if you were ever a winner here, anyway.
