Every single morning I eat cereal and then like 15mins. later I have to like take a crap, why is this? Is there something in milk that does this? It really makes me gassy too. For example, today at school my stomach started to feel really bubbly and I needed to pass gas but was in class and couldn't. icon_redface.gif Maybe gastrointestinal problem?

    You're probably lactose intolerant

Someday, you'll be doing this on purpose.

Do you drink a caffeinated beverage at the same time?

It might simply be your body clock, independent of the cereal/milk. I take a big dump every day between 8 and 9am.

    Eating triggers peristalsis. Perfectly natural.

Lactose intolerance is not the most likely "diagnosis". Sounds like a very normal reaction known as the gastro-colic reflex -- for many people, breakfast stimulates the GI tract and leads to a BM ( associated gas) shortly thereafter.

I should have mentioned I start the morning with coffee. That sets things in motion.

Someday I'll stop enjoying my weight loss.

My shadow doesn't touch my scale until I've had a life-altering dump.

Also, you might want to change cereals for a while to see if your discomfort disappears (is connected with your present cereal).

Fifteen minutes sounds too fast to be a reaction to what you are eating. It usually takes at least 30 minutes for that, in most cases anyway. It's most likely just your body making room for the next batch.

My hubby buy lots of bland, high-fiber cereals that come in plastic bags instead of colorful boxes and taste like rabbit food.

I swear every time I open the cabinet I have a bowel movement.

    Thanks you guys.

I eat nothing but Special K cereal. Only the Almond and Fruit and yogurt kind with 2% milk. After my biology class I usually end up having diarrhea (around 10a.m.) Pretty disgusting I know. Been awhile now so I went out and bought Almond milk vanilla, drank it and felt fine, so I actually don't know what is going on.

Well, I'm just going to lay off a bit of the cereal and 2% milk.

Oh and for the past 2 months I ate 7 boxes of cereal. Is that considered too much?

Glad you found a solution. I don't think 7 boxes of Special K is much of an issue as long as you eat other things besides that. And, you might find regular oatmeal to be a more satisfying meal that accomplishes the same thing ..and.. helps improve your cholesterol.

The problem with frequent loose stools is it can lead to hemorrhoids. Food moving that fast seems to have a higher level of stomach acid reaching the exit, It seems.

A doctor prescribed the broad-spectrum antibiotic Suprax for me to take to knock out a cold or flu. Intestinal flora took a serious hit. Two weeks later, I remember waddling around a grocery store at 3AM proclaiming to anyone that I was on an emergency hunt for preparation H and a threat to anyone who impeded my relief.

Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

    Sigh.
