DADT has been dead for about 3 weeks now. Lets make a thread to show our support for RJ Military Members at home and overseas. Its definitively not easy to be gay and be in any military branch, even without DADT.

My experience in the military post DADT repeal has been both positive and negative. No one has or will outright say that they don't want gays in the military but people still say "Faggot" without thinking twice. People still make lots of gay jokes but I'm hoping over time those will change. The good part is that the military is continuing as it did before without any major changes. Most people are either supportive or just don't care.

Try keep the thread positive and flame wars to a minimum haha.

Thank you Nimitz and all other military members, veterans, and retirees here on RJ who have done the honorable thing of serving our country.

    Great pics!
Speaking as someone who comes from a military/police family and heard all the negatives before the UK lifted the ban on gays serving in the military in 2000,I predict this change in the USA will slowly fade away and the guys will get on with their jobs....as they always do!
But a worthy thread.Their selfless service is one to be admired and fully supported!
