Actually nerds were the new cool in the 90's, as early as the mid to late 80's. They subsequently became the mainstream, co-opted cool, as merchandise and media cashed in on the now-ingrained norm. Nowadays "being a nerd is cool" is a cliche.

nerds were never cool hence they are nerds. They have a brief period in the late 80s where they were acceptable. Nerds who dont have assbergers transitioned in to hipsters who think they are cool, but in fact are not.

Its not an opinion. Its science

Nerds are the new cool? I hope not. I don't need that kind of attention or pressure to keep up.

I like nerds. I'm a nerd! If it weren't for nerds, there would be no RJ or intrawebz to even have this discussion!

    Now irony is cool....
Somehow nerds are so mainstream that alternative culture has adopted the exaggerated nerd, regardless of how mainstream it is, how ironic....

    memes-i-love-link-and-zelda.jpg

The video game industry has surpassed every other facet of entertainment...

The internet is a part of our daily lives, our politics, and is reshaping protocol for just about everything...

    What is a nerd anymore?

Yeah, they need to Die in a fire.

Bet you they dont even know who Kerouac is.
He wouldve beaten them up and spit on them for being spineless followers of mass consumerism.
