Any other big fans of her and the group?

I was a teenager in the 80s when they hit the scene. I did like a couple of songs but I really did not appreciate how great their stuff was until recently. Am very glad I am now rediscovering them. Way ahead of their time and it is a shame that the era of a confident balls to the walls female singer who marches to her own beat is pretty much over.

    Favorite songs...

    Happy Home...quientessential new wave
Spellbound...used on True Blood this year
    Cities in Dust...their masterpiece
Kiss Them For Me...probably their most commercial song
Hong Kong Garden...hated this song at first but now its ingrained in my head
The Passenger...better than Iggy Pop, wow this song is good
Wheels on Fire...cover of Dylan's song and another version of this was used for the Absolutely Fabulous theme song

Siouxie put out a cd a couple years back which was really really good. Would love for them to reunite as I have never seen them even though Siouxie might not be able to hit the same high notes. She still looks great now

LOVE Siouxie! Met her here in New Orleans a few years ago when she was on tour with her band The Creatures. She seemed to love what she was doing and to my surprise was very nice.

I love Happy House but this is the first time I've ever seen the video. What in the world was she thinking? Looks like she mugged a clown for his costume!

that's great you got to meet her. I have seen her in interviews and she actually seems quite normal and down to earth which is suprising. Maybe she has mellowed with age. She definitely is aging with grace.

I think Happy Home was one of their first vids so a very young Siouxie. I like the demented clown aspect to it.

I went thru a goth phase after high school so I was a big fan for many years. I even saw the Banshees in concert in 91.

If you like Siouxsie, you should absolutely check out Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Karen Oh could be Siouxsie's voice doppelganger but with a more modern sound. Their most recent album It's Blitz was one of the best albums of 2009.

I've seen Siouxsie several times as both Siouxsie and The Banshees and as The Creatures. My favorite song is Lunar Camel off the Kaleidoscope album.

yep have all the Yeah Yeah Yeahs stuff. The last cd was brilliant and am looking forward to new stuff for them. If there is anyone still with the Siouxie attitude around its Karen O

You bet. I'd see Siouxsie with or without her Banshees if she stopped by Minneapolis. She's great.

I loved Siouxsie in high school when I went through a goth phase. My favs include:

    -Spellbound
    -Arabian Knights
    -Voodoo Dolly
    -Hong Kong Garden
    -Happy House
    -Christine
    -Peekaboo

Edit: I just remembered that Blizzard Entertainment included an homage to Siouxsie in World of Warcraft. There's a character in the game world named "Siouxsie the Banshee". It made me chuckle when I first saw her...

I also met her and the band several years ago and agree that they are all very friendly, down to earth people.

I feel in love with them when I was a little goth kid. Seen The Banshees once, The Creatures twice, and "An Evening with Siouxsie". So great icon_smile.gif

Always love Siouxsie...older punk stuff is awesome, though I do love the later stuff. The Scream is one of my favorite albums.

A interesting collage of Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Creatures, and The Glove. The Glove was a one album band formed by Robert Smith and The Banshee's Steve Severin. Many nice images of Siouxsie here.

I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet. Sometimes I still get chills when I watch it.

I was fortunate enough to see them in Cleveland with the first Lollapalooza tour. I'd say they were the best part of the day but NIN actually showed up and he was pretty damn good, too.

As a whole, I think Peepshow is my favorite Banshees' album, but I listen to Tinderbox more often.

    That's an AWESOME album!
