Going to Vegas for a week-end sometime in Nov.

What is your favorite thing to do/see there.

Last time I went, we had a great time at 54 in MGM. It was June and 101 most days.icon_cool.gif
Best time during the day. I rented a motocycle and we went through old Las Vegas during the day and then out to the desert.icon_smile.gif

My favorite thing was two weekends ago putting down $100.00 on roulette table, playing for 5 hours and winning $3,500.00.

My least favorite thing was being lured back the next weekend and losing $3,500.00 haha.

Instead of gambling, whenever I am in Vegas I'd rather get some sun at the pool, swim laps and work out. At night, get an advance reservation at Bouchon - the Thomas Kellar restaurant at the Venetian. (Kellar is the founder of the French Laundry Restaurant in the Napa Valley). Another great restaurant in Vegas is Lawry's. There are also a couple of good night spots that your concierge can get you into.

You already did Fremont Street, but I always have a blast down there. Try the local bars in Fremont East. Don't Tell Mama or The Downtown.

Its very touristy, but the new bridge over the Hoover Dam is a fun couple of hours.

Bars, I highly recommend Nine Fine Irishmen (New York, New York / Straight), and the new gay bar, Garage, is off strip, but an awesome time.

If you don't want to gamble, Red Rocks Canyon is an awesome sight and it may even snow that late. Probably not, but you never know.

If you want to go clubbing, there's Krave, Pirahna, 8-1/2, Revolution on Sundays, etc.

What type of things are you looking to do?? I lived in Vegas for 4 years. Just moved away this summer.

Go to the Valley of Fire. Its a red rock canyon that is beautiful about 45 minutes north of vegas. Worth it. If you want something closer. Red Rock canyon near Summerland. "M" is a new casino in south Las Vegas. A lot of people talk about this one. Some think "not" though. Luxor, Cesars, Belagio and Mandalay Spas have cruising going on sometimes.

Where are you staying? the spa/gyms in LV are some of the best you will see anywhere. Caesars Qua Spa has a nice gym and great facilities. the spa @ the Aria is aalso very nice.

The newist casino hotel is The Cosmopolitan. It's very nice and the buffet, Wicked Spoon, is EXCELLENT.

I would definately recommend see one of the Cirque shows.

I would agree Red Rock Canyon is a nice, closeby place to visit. The Red Rock Casino Resort , which is on the way there/back from the canyon, is a beautiful place to visit, and the buffet is also very good and very resonably priced.

If you like to shop, the outlet mall near downtown LV has many nice stores.

Mirage pool from 9am-2pm, go eat, go slow play on the Aria blackjack tables (best drinks in town for such low min. bets) then go party once you've had enough mojitos. Easy.

I've stayed at Mandalay Bay, Caesars, MGM, The Residence At Canyon Gate(condo not mine icon_sad.gif) and the Palms. He has only been to MGM. We are not really Cirque guys. I saw it once without him and since it's only a week end this time he doesn't want to see one. We have both never been to Red Rock. We are in NYC alot so there is no need to shop. I like the pool blackjack idea and mojitos low tables might get him to gamble. I like to gamble a little, but he doesn't at all. We were in Atlantic City last year we went to the Roulette table he played his number-straight bet and after 4 or 5 tries he hit number 4 and he was done and happy with the winnings and that was it.??!! I think we will go to Mandalay because if it is warm it's like a tiny ocean in the middle of the desert, and the food and rooms are good/nice. I don't care about the room that much, but I like a big hotel. We will be the guys in all black at night--icon_cool.gif In a cool way not a men in black movie way. hahaha
thanks guys I'm gonna google Red Rock.

Red rock is east of Summerlin, and it's $5 per vehicle, and it's good all day. You can drive through for the scenery, or take a hike! The best is the "Ice Box" trail in my opinion, and it's towards the end of the loop. Check it out!

For good mojitos, check out Firefly! It's a great locals spot for drinks and tapas.

Red Rock is nice, but it's part of his B-day gift so I think we'll go to Mandalay, but damn that would save me some bucks. Like I said he doesn't like to gamble and as far as bars we usually end up at straight bars, which is good/cool. I want him to look at the hotel and feel "wow" a bit. I can't match what he has done for my birthday in the past, but I will try. He doesn't know what hotel, and hopefully he doesn't read this. Yeah we don't hide stuff like log ons from each other, but again he doesn't like RJ.

Just got back, had a great time. Mandalay was awesome didn't disappoint- he said wow at the hydro wave pool. It was almost like being at the beach in the middle of the desert. Did the mojitos at The Mirage, thanks ncujock. A few hours before we left I put a hundred bucks on black in roulette and wonicon_smile.gif was plain luck because black just came up, but it looked like more bets were on red. I'm just glad it wasn't zero or double zero! 3 days 4 nights went by way too fast!!!! I still lost money but that is Vegas. Mandalay is huge but there was better looking younger crowd at The Mirage. If you're in your 20's go there.
