I have been climbing at a great indoor gym now for about 3 months. I have also been going to the gym for longer than that. Does lifting weights, and I do it to build, hinder climbing?
Also, any stretching that you know of specifically for climbing?

I always found that "traditional" weight training hurt my bouldering. But I also have a body that prefers to carry a ton of muscle.

When I changed to olympic lifting and plyos for my lower body my gains on rock increased. A campus board is your friend if you are bouldering or sport. For trad... I never really figured it out. There are some really solid climbers on rj that may give better thoughts than I. Medic? Ya' out there?

Check out "Training for Climbing" from Falcon. It gets you into a routine to improve your climbing. You also may want to add yoga into your routine to improve flexibility, balance and proprioception.
