The Big East sent all sports invitations to UCF, SMU, and Houston. Also they sent football-only memberships to Air Force and Boise St.

    As for games:

Louisville at Cincinnati (-13.5) noon Big East Network

Utah at Pittsburgh (-6) noon ESPNU

    Navy at Rutgers (-3.5) 2:00 ESPN3

    South Florida (-7) at UCONN 3:30, ESPN3

    (13) West Virginia, Syracuse bye

I really hope the invitees accept.

As for the traitors Pitt and Syracuse, I wish they pay their penalty and leave pronto.

So far Louisville's defense seems too much for UC. 16-7 at the half.

Utah seemed to be sleepwalking early, but now they only trail by one 14-13.

When I think of the Big East I think of basketball and UCF, SMU, and Houston really aren't the school I would consider to replace Syracuse and Pitt with. Boise State needs to go to a power football conference. They should go to the Big 12 for football. and who's Air Force. never heard of them icon_lol.gif

The Big East reminds me of the Greek mythology stories where the son grows up to kill his father. I don't blame any of the schools for jumping ship. Here you have a top level basketball league that gave birth to a football conference. Football soon consumes and destroys the orignal basketball league. Now Boise State will be in the Big East!? Talk about stretch. Is Hawaii and Alaska next. Then again this newly announce Merger of Conference USA with the Mountain West will stretch from the Atlantic coast to Hawaii so why not? I think they should call that conference the Pan America conference. Then the Big East can use the name Conference USA because that is pretty much what it is becoming.

This is all about football and TV contracts, not basketball. You're right UCF and SMU havent done anything in basketball. Houston has a stoied history, and has solid teams from time to time.

Cincinnati comes back to win their conference opener.

Pitt seems to be in a mess, they didn't score after the first quarter and lost to Utah.

Navy up early over Rutgers at the half.

Rutgers won a close game, UCONN held on to beat USF. I wonder if UC or Rutgers will be ranked coming tomorrow
