Marriage may prolong your life, a new study shows.

Bachelors who developed cancer were 35% more likely to die at a younger age than their married counterparts - a gap that has grown in the past 40 years, researchers in Norway have found.

The picture was equally grim for single gals: They are 22% more likely to die sooner than wedded women who develop cancer, up from 17% in 1970.

The researchers speculated that married folks are more diligent about following doctors orders and sticking with treatment.

The increase in death for singles was higher regardless of age, education and size of tumor, said the authors who relied on more than 440,000 death records from 1970 to last year.

The results were published in the journal BioMed Central

I don't believe it. Maybe single straight men likely die than gay men.icon_lol.gif
