Finally booked our stateroom and while the invoice causes me to shudder, I'm super psyched. We're along with a pal from NYC who told us about it originally.

Who else is going? We had a good discussion about the cruise, but wanted to get the official roll call started.

If I had the money I may very well have gone. Unfortunately the car still needs suspension overhaul, new radiator, tires and an alignment. That comes before anything else icon_eek.gif

Just dont have sex on the public decks.... the crew hate that... the straights dont do it either.... its rather disrespectful... other than that.. sailor crews love gay people.. they know how to party

Edit: Ive been sailor crew myself... I heard the stories lol

I've met guys who have gone solo. They still seem to enjoy themselves. I think there are daily singles events where the turn outs are pretty decent. I met this one guy who went to one of these events and met a cruise boyfriend. They hung out together the entire time.

I also met a group of guys during one of the excursions that all came solo and met each other at the singles events. They were hanging out has a big group. A lot of them were hot.

We have a friend going solo. They matched him up with a bunkmate. Not sure how some of the logistics could work out, but he's excited. The whole thing sounds like summer camp at sea.

@JbinSF. Yeah. The name is a play on words. This cruise has been the best motivation ever.

I've heard good things by passengers and sailor crew. Apparently it's a good time all around for everyone, even guys who don't want to hook up.

I'm going again and really looking forward to it.

The share program works pretty well. If you are in it, you can call RCCL and get your actual confirmation. Once you have that you can log onto their site and find out the name of your roomie. From there you can hit facebook and see if you can find him before hand. I was able to do this when I was in the share program and found him in Spain. We were able to share likes/dislikes and were a little more prepared when we finally met onboard.

These cruises are whatever you make of them. Party hard, relax hard or somewhere in the middle.

This January cruise tends to be a little younger and more 'party' then the european (or even mexican riviera) cruises-but it's an absolute blast.

I've got a Boardwalk Balcony cabin and a bubble machine that I can't wait to use for the t-dances.

If you guys going from RJ want to have a little Meet & Greet we could do that pretty easily. Just let me know your interest and I'll suggest a place and time. The ship is amazing and there are lots of places a small group could get together.

I've been on both and I found the Mexican Riviera much better -- better weather, better destinations, and the slightly smaller ship is preferred to the gargantuan beast that is Allure. When it comes to cruises, "Bigger isn't always better". Regardless, I wish I was going. These cruises are a blast, and those of you going for the first time are in for a real treat.

Im booked on the mexican riviera cruise for October 2012. Also the cancun resort for April and as soon as they announce the aussie cruise, I am booking that.

I've been on both as well and I'll agree for the most part. I wasn't going to do Allure again but all my friends from the previous few January cruises are doing it so I wanted to see them again. I've been to just about all of the Carib destinations so I really don't care too much about them anyway. Also this is probably the last January cruise (at least for a couple of years) since there is not going to be a suitable ship for Atlantis to use in So. Florida next year. I'm also interested in seeing what changes they are going to make to fix the issues from last year.

And I'm super excited about my cabin. It's on deck 8 at the back of the ship overlooking the boardwalk bar (and aqua theater). I've already got the decorations and theme for the balcony sorted out. icon_smile.gif

The door decorating is always a hoot to see. One thing I noticed is that they have kept the price pretty much the same, but the cruise this year only has 3 stops and it's only 7 days and 6 nights. So they have trimmed down the cruise. I kind of prefer the days at sea anyway, but the cruise is going to feel short I think.
