Ok Guys who can give me pointers on what kind of workout I can do to help keep from gaining weight after stopping smoking. I have noticed that I have gained a few pounds that much. But want to nip it before it gets out of control anyone with ideas on what to do?

Run every day....... do 5kilometers each day and time yourself.

Aim to cut down by a few mins each day.

Alternativly swim one day, run the next.

Or, just dont eat to fill the cigarrette gap. It not the cigarettes tyhat will make you gain the weight...its the food you eat to fix the smoking urge.

Get super rich dark chocolate. When the urge kicks in, eat a small piece of it, and savor it in ur mouth. gets rid of the urge usually and although it does have calories, a small piece is better then other junk foods and it's good for ur heart and a great reason to have some wine.

I quit smoking over 2 months ago and didn't gain weight. In fact I can't gain or lose weight unless I really try lol. My body likes to be 160-170lbs : (

Just eat healthy and lift hard. My 1rm increased a lot after I quit smoking so if ur lifting, u prob won't gain fat.

Not true Mikey... the metabolism changes when a smoker stops, not alot, but it does slow a bit. I agree on increasing the cardio, and also finding healthier snacks when the muchies hit.

DTP training is supposed to help you lose weight and gain muscle at the same time. If you don't care about putting on muscle I say just do as much cardio as possible.
