What are the numbers of unemployed now? Some 15 million or so is what I remember reading a few weeks ago. and there were only around 100 thousand jobs created last month and as I recall none in August and this heartless windbag says its the unemployed's own fault?

Does he expect the unemployed to wave a magic wand and yell 'let there be jobs' and god 'will make it so'? His words don't even come close to matching reality for many an economically depressed area of our country.

All I can say is that he just cost himself a hell of a lot of votes right there with that one statement. Where's his compassion for those who lost their jobs and have no way of supporting their family or maintaining a home for them ? Such comments show a severe lack of character. This guy is not presidential material at all.

As usual, the left wing media edits the video before he finished what he's about to say. This is exactly the same tactic that the right is accused of.

True, it wasn't at all smart for him to say that he still stands by his not so wise statement of a few days ago, but in the next 20 or 30 seconds he say that they should be blaming the white house.

And here's the rest of the segment that someone conveniently edited out

So as Mitt Romney likes to say - good try

I was specifically addressing the fact that the Cain video clip that the OP posted was conveniently shortened to remove what he really said. That being said, Cain certainly contradicted himself with what he went on to say in the next 30 seconds after the OP’s clip ended.

I’m noticing that he seems to do this frequently, and not over a period of days, more like over the period of a minute. In spite of my earlier support: I like the guy, but he’s not ready for prime time.

Number one last night IMO, Gingrich, who is not electable because of past transgressions.

You are a fuck wit. Blame those whose financial greed and recklessness plunged the country and the world into recession, not the White House.

"fuck wit" simply brilliant, dip shit!. Is that the best you got or didn't you just happen to notice that I'm not in the video clip? That just happens to be an older gentleman named Herman Cain who said that, not me. Try rereading the thread and keeping it in context before you open your foul mouth, punk .

The audience, even before hearing his bash-White-House excuse, loudly cheered the "Blame yourself if you don't have a job" statement.

That is the shocker. Cain's feeble explanation is just the cherry on the cake.

Forum Rule That Is Never Enforced #2:

Do not attack/slam/insult others. You can discuss the message or topic, but do not attack the messenger. If you are attacked by another user, and you reciprocate, you will also be subject to the same consequences. Defending yourself, defending a friend, and so on, are not excuses. Violations of this rule will be taken seriously and may result in you being banned without warning.

Well, I certainly was "If you are attacked by another user, and you reciprocate," and sure did reciprocate.

That's very old news from a couple of weeks ago. Are you not paying attention? However, the vid piece very conveniently edits out the rest of his answer and that’s disingenuous, is it not?

Actually, rule #2 would be a way whittle down the size of the RJ membership from about 305,000 to 2,000 or 3,000. icon_smile.gif

http://www.2012presidentialelectionnews.com/2011/10/cnn-western-republican-debate-tonight-at-8pm-et-5pm-pt/Airing tonight at 8pm ET/5pm PT is the Western Republican Presidential Debate live from Las Vegas, Nevada. The debate is sponsored by CNN and the Western Republican Leadership Conference. Tonight's broadcast will feature seven GOP candidates since Jon Huntsman has chosen not to attend this time around.

Air Time: Tuesday, October 18th at 8pm ET, 5pm PT on CNN

And I repeat: doubling down on a stupid on-the-spur/winging-it statement and then to segue into a Republican talking point about the White House is NOT the shocker here.

    It's the audience's response.
