Since we're talking alot about pants today icon_cool.gif

I'll answer this question in three phases:

    Elementary School: Track Pants
High School: Jeans (Wore Dress Pants for Uniform though icon_sad.gif )
University: Corduroy / Dress Pants / Jeans

I don't know where corduroy came from, as I always thought it was a style reserved for my uncle or whatever but, somehow, I now see it in a fashionable light, oddly enough with the skinny jeans look tied to it.

for now, I must say Corduroy is my favorite.

    What about you?

Cord is in this season so there are a lot of brands coming out with skinny cords.

Elementary School: Baggy jeans. (lol 90s)
High School: I wore pretty ugly jeans. :S
    College: Skinny jeans & sweatpants.

Now I only wear sweatpants in the house, and almost every pair of my jeans are skinnies. I do have a couple of nice pairs of slim-fit that I got from Topman in 2008 and never wore until recently.

Chinos - never will go out of style and straddles the line between casual and work-appropriate beautifully. My current obsession is the J.Crew stanton chino in classic fit.

Elementary? Fuck if I remember, it was the late 70s and early 80s for me - probably Sears brand jeans and those short-short gym shorts with the white trim.

Middle school - Embarassment over my stick-thin legs capped by an oversized bubble butt lead me to wear loose-fit jeans. Again, whatever cheap crap the parents bought as we were on the lower end of middle class and I had neither a clue nor a care about fashion.

High School - peg-legged 501s or Silvertabs, and on ocassion tan Chinos in imitation of a douchey Young Republican I crushed on. Late 80s.

USAF - mostly 501s (no peg legging as someone smarter than me set me straight on that fashion fuck-up) or a set of BDUs (Battle Dress Uniform). Early 90s. Sometimes baggy jeans while that fad persisted.

Afterwards into the Modern Era: Carpenter pants or cargo shorts when working construction, and chinos or dress slacks when doing business with sub contractors or builders.

These days I work in an office as a programmer (wearing slacks or trousers that are tailor fit, still clueless as ever about what labels and cuts work best on me, so I dragoon my more fabulous friends into helping me shop wisely)

At home and on telecommute days, I'm either in flannel lounge pants or track pants (winter) or boxer briefs or nekkid (summer).

Late high school. . .kind of obsessed with 7's, and I still am haha.

College/Right now - loving dry denim

Basically rolling the pant leg up a turn while making the end snug as tightly as possible around the ankle - like this:

    XNFzE.jpg

A total douchewad fad in New York (up)State from around 1987-1992. The look was completed by either a long-sleeve Ralph Lauren button-up shirt, or a polo shirt, or a heavy cable knit sweater in cold weather with a Guido chain worn prominently, and boat shoes (typically Bass).

oh yeah - the other pants of the early 90s:

MC Hammer pants. Commonly worn by weightlifters/BB'ers of that era.

Also known as "Seven Day Shitters" because they were voluminous enough to hold seven days worth of shit.

Elementary school: cheap, thin knit paisley-like print crap from JC Penney (hey, it was the 60's and mom bought my clothes.)

Thereafter: Levi 501s worn over shit-kickers

The Disco Era: Brown corduroy baggies, ridiculously tight in the ass and ridiculously flared in the legs.

    College: back to 501s

Grad school: rags and birkenstocks. and a lab coat.

Corporate Era: Dockers & lab coat on duty. Bike shorts all other times.

    Self Employment: Pants?
