On a Saturday, when it's sunny and warm and you've done all your chores is great. I feel refreshed.

I had my third straight night of lousy sleep last night. I am trying to fight the desire to nap, but I think I am losing. It is a beautiful day here for a change and my brain is telling me "sleep, sleep". Damn.

Since I always wake up early no matter what time I go to bed, I often am ready for a nap during the afternoon on weekends.

Are you depressed? Guys your age should not be napping that much. Just wondering.

Taking an afternoon nap would disrupt my sleep cycle such that when it would come time to actually sleep I find myself staring at the ceiling for at least a half hour to an hour -- then I wake up throughout the night. I try my best to avoid taking a nap during the weekdays since I need to be able to sleep properly, and if I don't get a good night's sleep one night it spills over to the next such that I will be forced to take a nap but doing so only feeds the vicious cycle. But on weekends I generally do nap, and it does give you a nice refreshing feeling!

I wish I could nap. When I've tried, I get up afterwards and feel so out of it, that the rest of my day is ruined. It's like my body has reset itself to think it's morning, and nothing coordinates.

I know just what you mean. Keep it under 30 minutes and it will refresh instead of dulling.

I cannot nap. If I nap I usually wake up feeling even groggier and yuckier than before. I'll take an espresso, please.

I've been taking afternoon naps since august of 06. When I started college I had a break in classes from around 2-4 my first semester. I started taking naps then. During my winter and summer brakes I work from 4am - 12pm so I always end up taking an afternoon nap. I also schedule my classes so I have a little downtime in the afternoon

If I can keep the nap to around 45 minutes, I have no problem going to bed when I want.

I love the occasional nap -- 1/2 to 1 1/2 hours. Doesn't affect my sleep cycle or ruin the rest of my day.

Guess I take after my grandpa.

Wish it where so. The only time I've not felt bad after a nap is when it's been under 5 minutes. And even then, it wasn't a refreshing nap. I just didn't feel terrible after it.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one like this!

My partner and I took a nap together this afternoon. I slept for an hour, now I feel slightly human for a change, instead of a walking zombie.

    Brothers in torment! hehe
I took a nap and some misfit knocking on the door woke me up, it had only been 20+ minutes and I felt like I got run over. I need to sleep in more.
