    TRON LEGACY!
Daft Punk nailed this soundtrack. sure it isn't fist-pumping house techno, but every time I listen to it I just see the movie's glowing lights and futuristic scenes. the combination of their signature electronic sound and that orchestra behind them just sounds great. there are a couple real good beat-pounding tracks, like the one that plays in the movie when Daft Punk are the DJs.

PLUS Disney released TRON Legacy Reconfigured, that are remixes of music from the soundtrack mixed by various DJs. if haven't checked it out, check it out.

PLLUUUSSS isn't Garrett Hedlund just gorgeous?? (he's in the movie)

Mm, Tron was good, but I gotta go with the classic Hunchback of Notre Dame. It's totally different from Tron I know, but so epic.

Tron Legacy was an awesome soundtrack. Some of daft punk's finest. Reconfigured was a little bit to bleepy bloopy for me though. You're right, it is some of their finest.

i knew some of the folks who worked on the movie. Apparently while they were setting up to shoot the scene in the nightclub it was taking longer and Daft Punk just basically spun a mix right there on the set for the extras and other actors. We were all steamin' jealous that we weren't there icon_evil.gif

I don't really consider the Tron soundtrack as a Disney one in the 'traditional' sense.

I figured you were gonna mention The Little Mermaid or something but you HAD to be all hip and cool and go straight for Daft Punk icon_biggrin.gif

It may be blasphemous but I actually preferred the reconfigured version of the soundtrack......it's not Daft Punk's best work at all.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who considers that to be the best Disney quasimusical... See what I did there?

I did indeed xD Hellfire is awesome, though.

I love the introit the best which used the motif from Hellfire. The 3/4 with Clarinets at the beginning of the "tale" are what set up the mood for the entire film.

I've literally just come out of a phase where I had it minimised on my laptop constantly haha. Disney used to be so epic.

Alan Menken makes me so moist. I feel like having a Disney marathon right the fuck now.

He epitomized the magic of the Disney musical film experience bar none, the only exception (and not even an exception but a compliment) the sublime work of Hans Zimmer for The Lion King.

I am kinda tied between Lion King and HoND. The Lion King wins out for me due to it just being so different with the tribal beats and the awesome musical that followed.

That and for the fact that one of my friends hosted a friend from Africa (who apparently spoke Zulu). They popped in the Lion King, started playing it, not thinking about it. She sits up straight and says "They are speaking my LANGUAGE. They are saying THE LION KING, THE LION KING, THE LION KING...."

When I saw the title, my mind went immediately to the kids movies. Alan Menken + Howard Ashman FTW.

The opening of the Lion King was awesome, but I didn't like the rest of it. They really missed an opportunity to do some really cool African music.

I think that Aladdin has to be my favorite for a kids movie. The Jungle Book was my favorite growing up.

I would have to say hunchback was very impressive indeed... but I think for me its likely to be Beauty and the Beast

Im not a big Oscar follower, but I know they won best score and original song... not to mention it was the first cartoon to be nominated for best picture... and I think it was the only movie ever to have THREE nominations for best song from the same movie
