I've been here for 3 months (minus some time away), and I haven't made enough friends yet. I'm kicking myself in the butt and putting myself out there to see if I can converse with more people. You are welcome to join me.

Come out of the shadow of the popular crowd and make yourself seen. Tell us about yourself so that we can all get to know you better. Who knows? Maybe something you say here will catch the eye of your next friend or boyfriend.

There are no set rules, but here are a few suggestions:

    1. Make is something that can be a conversation starter.
    2. Make it simple. If you write too much, people will skip you.
    3. Don't make it a topic that you've already discussed ad nauseum in your profile or in the forums.

    I'll start.

    1. Yes, my profile says I'm a computer geek, but I don't think you'd guess that if you met me in person. I didn't plan to have that career. I started to study biology because of my love for animals. I got into computers to pay my bills. I found I enjoyed it, and I had a knack for it.

    2. I've always enjoyed having pets. Over the years I've had dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, and birds. I used to have a marine aquarium that was so successful that I had to give the excess coral away because it was growing so fast.

    3. I've been to Mount Vernon, the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and the Natural History museum in D.C. over the past year or so. I want to do so much more than that. I prefer science museums or historical places to art galleries.

3 months and only 580 posts? Shame on you.

Good idea for a thread though.

I have found you quite enjoyable to converse with. Alas, this will not be the main focus of the thread. So, without further adieu...

    1) I tend to be more receptive online, but also very lax with quite a few things. It's a bad habit.

    2) Yes, my name is first and middle name's are Trevor Mark. My entire name sounds pornish, so I don't post it all on here.

    3) I've always wanted to live somewhere IN a city. Without having to rely on a car.

I know. My post count is pathetic. I can barely keep up as it is.

I was hoping the idea would take off a little more, but it seems to be DOA.

jpBITCHva saidWell, I'm out of fun facts. kthxbai

I'm not believing that for one minute. I bet you have a million fun facts to share. You're just holding out on us.

TrevorMark saidI have found you quite enjoyable to converse with.

I've enjoyed talking to you as well. I don't know why we haven't talked more. I'll work on that. icon_biggrin.gif

    1. More than one person has told me that I'd be good at Trivial Pursuit. I guess it's because I recall all the random facts others might not. For example, humans are one of the only mammals that do not have a bone in their penis. Yeah...so, there's a plethora of that kind of useless crap in mah brain, pent up waiting for a cathartic release.

    2. I have an obsessive personality. It's a really good thing I was never exposed to drugs, I'd probably be fucked up or dead. If I really like a book series, video game, or some other subject I'll "crack out" on it for hours, days at a time learning and doing all I can. I'm also the type that will watch movies over and over.

    3. I would really like to take my career every which way but sideways: Floor nurse, ER, SICU, OR, PACU, EVERYTHING! Traveling nursing sounds fun. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do after my BSN. It's hinging on CRNA, PA, or Med school. I just wish I had more discipline.

Any MOTD qualities I might have (inspiring body transformation, helpful posts, arguable wit, interesting profile) are undermined by my inability or reluctance to self promote, bitch or cam for popularity.

okay, i'll give it a whirl.

    1. I'm from an upperclass southern family but have been banished from social events because I'm apparently too much of an embarrassment to be around potential business clients.

    2. I look like a stereotypical skinny, young, blonde fashionable gay guy but most of my tee-shirts are cheap, white, and stained with every fluid that you can possibly get to leak or drain out of an automobile (or suck out of one with a turkey baster. ask). I'm a huge gearhead, adrenaline junkie and love motorsports.

    3. I say I have "always" been attracted to muscular men. This statement can javascript:void(0);be proven back to age 3

    OK here we go...

    1. As a kid there was a point where I was obsessed with labels, particularly Nike. I couldn't wear anything but it, I know ridiculous right.

    2. Not many people know this, not even people who know me...but I used to figure-skate, from about grades 2-4 and I was damn good at it too! Did a solo show once icon_cool.gif haha

    3. I once scored "38" points in a basketball game in HS, had my name posted in the paper and told everyone about it...even though I knew damn well that I didn't score that much, I think the girls doing the score liked me or something?!icon_twisted.gif

aw hell, why not! I'm enjoying reading others'...

    1) I played just about every sport growing up, maybe with the exception of lacrosse (which we weren't afforded in the midwest). I was that guy in high school with the gaudy letterman jacket littered with patches and pins.

    2) Chess is my favorite game... ever. I love to kick it in Washington Sq Park hustling the hustlers.

    3) If it didn't mean paying the rent every month, I'd probably drop my current job and become a professional photographer. Love capturing moments. Who knows, though, maybe there's still time.

I say quite the opposite by the way. Quality not quantity. icon_smile.gif

    Ok...let me see.

I love any kind of sports oriented movie. I think I have seen them all.
    AND
I love the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

I really and truly make the best meatloaf known to mankind.
    AND
I would so rather cook then clean up.

My greatest joy is playing tennis on a hot day with my shirt off
    AND
I find it sexy when a guy isn't completely naked.

Thanks to everyone for posting in this thread. Nice to meet you all.

    Another factoid about me:

My favorite type of music is alternative/rock. This seems to be an extreme rarity in the gay community. I've been out of touch with the scene for a while now because the only true alternative station in this area closed down a long time ago. I'm hoping iPhone + WiFi + Pandora will get me back on track.

    Hey OP, hello!

Fun fact: I'm gifted at facial recognition. As a caricaturist, I use a/n conscious/unconscious distillation algorithm that doubles as a discernment processor and a feature filing system.

Your features in this picture are filed in the same thread as a childhood friend of mine (take my word for it), combined with a thread that includes Adam Levine.

After seeing this picture I'll be able to recall your face even if you've aged or had facial work done.

For each person I meet, I put my impression of their face in a "file folder," based upon the most prominent of their features (what would remind me of them if I saw them again). Tracking the file folder down requires following a thread of one or two of their most prominent features when I meet them again. I guess the way that I access people's faces is that I recall a feeling about them (let's say a turning in my stomach) when I see them again. That feeling plugs me into the thread that finds their file.

    See this person?
    MV5BMTk1OTgxNzY1NF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMjM2

I have a file folder for her particular forehead/eyebrow/eye set. When I see someone with a similar set, they get filed in the same folder.

She reminds me of this person, so they go in the same bucket (notice the eye/brow/forehead).

My name is Nick-I go by Rush, I live in a box and I piss in the corner.

Oh, and I have 503 personalities: 499 Abe Lincolns (twenty of whom are robots), a Mary Todd Lincoln and three Napoleons from the deep south (Bon-jerr ya'll! Comm-mint allie-z vooooz?).

Wait, I have to be serious? Ugh...fine...
    1) Love martial arts. They give me inner peace and help me through life.
    2) Greek and proud
    3) pets rock
    4) languages are fun and I speak a few too many for my own good
    5) travel kicks ass, too
    6) I like numbered lists (my BA was poli sci, which equals bureaucracy, which equals organized shit like a numbered list).
    7) I really do go by Rush. Nickname from my trainer because I rush through things I dislike (which means form goes to hell pretty quickly) and I rush into sparring sometimes...and come out bruised because of it.
    8 ) I fuckin love Tiger Balm!

    I guess that's all...

That's kind of what I thought you meant, but I couldn't imagine any feature that I share with Adam Levine.

    Fun facts:

    1. I am the least fashion-conscious gay man I know. Twice in my life I have been mistaken for a homeless person (once BY a homeless person). After that I decided to do less clothes shopping at the army-navy store.

    2. I am driven crazy by the fact that we use the word 'liberal' to indicate 'progressive'. Liberalism (which begins with Locke and Bentham) is the foundation for all mainstream politics in the United States, both conservative and progressive.

    3. I was talking to a straight friend one day and I said "Sometimes I wonder why I am still single, but the other night as I was getting ready for bed I looked down and saw that I had a blob of guacamole on my sweatshirt." Without missing a beat he said "Don't worry man, somewhere out there there's a guy getting ready for bed with a tortilla chip stuck to him."
