I have been getting a kick out of http://gonzolabs.org/dance/videos/ lately. They have students put their thesis to dance to try to explain it and some of them are pretty good (or at least amusing.) I figure that my pure enjoyment watching the videos must qualify me to carry a "geek card."

I realized while watching the second one down that I suspect that the song may be Gaga but cannot positively identify it (hence my gay card being revoked...)

Just thought I would post the link in case anybody has nothing to do but watch future scientists dance their thesis away. I should probably add one of the "better" videos. some are better than others, but this guy is one of the better dances. http://vimeo.com/29907337

Many years ago, I saw a certain nobel laureate attempt such a dance, in a bar in Germany. It was cut short when he spilled his beer, but I was still impressed. It seemed completely extemporaneous.

Love it. I would have been fucking valedictorian if I had been able to learn and test like this.

Best one I've seen so far is the pigeon behavioral dance - the only one with like, real professional dancers (I'm a dance snob) and the one that seems to have demonstrated its point the most succintly.

ETA: west77, the first song was indeed "Dance in the Dark" by Gaga
