I agree. This week's episode was the first of the new season that met the standards of the first two seasons. Fingers crossed that it continues.

I find it interesting that it's that well liked by gays considering it definitely stereotypes gays as flamboyant guys expressing extensive drama and making subtle sexual innuendoes constantly.

I hear so many guys comment on how wrong stereotyping is and then they find this show very funny. I don't get get it but I've seen this show and it doesn't bother me, not my favorite show but there is humor at times.

Clever writing, amazing timing (Ty Burrell is fantastic), witty, intelligent, and crafty.

The misunderstandings are hillarious, perhaps the best one was the "Taste My Cupcakes" scene:

Two gay dads who've adopted a baby girl and run into the same family problems as traditional families... I'm so sick of that stereotype.

I can't remember the last time I actually got into a sitcom. I get a good laugh or two, but nothing that makes me want to come back and watch the next week.

I've been hearing good things about Modern Family so maybe I'll watch the next episode to see for myself.

They stereotype each one... also the Latina.. You have no idea how many South American stereotypes they throw out on the show that are really untrue but are part the less well-informed stereotyped knowledge of North Amerca concerning everything South of the border.. but I laugh my ass off... it strikes a chord and this is the point of comedy

Well if they were just playing up the gay stereotype that would be annoying but they poke fun at everyone.

For example this joke about the baby's Dr.

    This example about screaming Latinas

Typical man that doesn't listen to his wife

My point was that the characters aren't JUST the stereotype. They are well rounded. Cam may be over dramatic and scream like a woman, but he can also throw a football and he's a good father.

I looked for the clip of Cam and Mitch discussing who was the most mom-like (mommer?), but struck out.

    I. Love. This. Show.

I'm still trying to catch up on the current season. I think one of my favorite parts about the show is that I don't have a favorite character. Each of the adult characters has had great moments during the run of the show.

It's been a long time since I've seen a comedy that I liked this much.
